He's tasted victory and probably got the bit between his teeth.

Schumacher moans about the tyres.
http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/99103 I guess that it's not really the same as doing 50,000 kms of pre-season testing with Ferrari and Bridgestone, as it used to be in the 'old days', so it's bound to be a bit different for him. I personally think that it's really good that the tyres are making the racing good. |

Wouldn't he have had use of DRS anyway? I thought it only mattered about being within 1s of the car infront at the DRS detection (last corner). We have seen last year a pass been made between detection and activation, and DRS was enabled allowing the car that had made the pass, to pull away further.

I agree that it's not right that Schumacher was vilified for Hungary and Rosberg not for this.

Grosjean had a good race. He seemed to have no problem stepping up and getting the job done on Webber and Hamilton. He had the car speed but he dismissed the two of them quickly and neatly. His quali speed and his race results are encouraging.
Which brings me to Disco Dan and Vergne....Vergne doesnt seem to be able to string a quali lap together and Dan seems to know how to go backwards in a race. They both need to get their acts together if STR is going to try and beat Williams and FI Also Lewis, he is getting points but you have to sit back and consider just how great a job Button is doing. He has had two DNFs and still so close to Hamilton. |

Yep, Schumacher did a very similar move, and got fried for it, circumstances were slightly different, there was a wall, however he did leave just enough room (milimetres).

If JB had had 4 bad pitstops in 4 races, how close would he be to LH? Or is the great job JB is doing sneaking in the garage at night and putting superglue on LH's wheel nuts?

The difference is that Rosberg started making his move before Hamilton/Alonso made theirs (" 3. The driver of car eight made the move to the right prior to the driver of car [four/five] making the same move") while Schumacher waited until after Barrichello had started making his move before essentially trying to push him into the wall - hence, "illegally impeding" Barrichello.

Seriously, I agree with the stewards, especially in Alonso's case. To have a well-informed view on the incident with Hamilton, I should see an onboard replay from Hamiltons car. If Hamilton did not have an overlap, Lewis should have taken the ouside line, instead of overtaking Rosberg with 4 wheels of the track. He should be penalised for leaving the track and gaining an advantage. |

From what I saw on the Beeb Rosbergs swerves did seem somewhat OTT, but as said, would need to see other camera angles...
Haven't seen any discussion yet of why Vettel and Rosberg had to stop so suddenly....low fuel levels? In Rosbergs case Di Resta and Alonso nearly had him he slowed that much..... If it was low fuel, extra credit to Kimi for pushing Seb so hard....even if Kimi's usual sour-puss interview at the end seemed graceless |

Maybe they should just extend the track area and call it the Rosberg Kink...?

i'll say what i said at the start of the season - ricciardo has had a habit of flaking out in the middle of races in the past. he hasn't fixed that yet. when he does, he will be absolute dynamite. until then he's just all qualifying time and no race results. Good point.
We don't want to see that type of racing on every single circuit, I guess, do we? Selby |

Well it clearly wasn't a racing incident because it was a deliberate move.

Rosberg's moves were perfectly fair imho. Robust defending, but fair and only one move when the other car was behind him. The focal length of the camera foreshortens the distance for viewers.
Hamilton overtaking with four wheels off the track limit however......should have at least attracted a word afterwards. |

Hamilton didn't pass Rosberg until both were back inside the white line, which presumably explains why those calling for his head are so disappointed.
You could argue of course that by running wide and getting alongside Rosberg's right hand side that Hamilton gained an advantage (which is what the four wheels off rule is strengthened by); if he hadn't moved then they would probably both have gone off. Is "not crashing" an advantage, technically? 50/50 I thought, and the telemetry backed that up. |

Overly so. I've never seen him show much fight in a wheel-to-wheel battle, then he had that excellent win and now his racecraft went a bit nuts. It reminds me of the quiet person you know at your office who gets a bit drunk and goes a bit crazy and rowdy.

RE Rosberg, even if he's not penalised for running the other car off track, in one of those manoeuvrings he then swerved back across the track to take the racing line again. That's a double move, and that should have given him a penalty. Even if he didn't get a penalty because the other car wasn't fully alongside... the car behind was carrying so much more speed that he was committed to the right. Trying to switch lines because of Rosberg's block may have meant a collision. Not sure if he would have been so committed if a wall was there, but there wasn't. I still think Rosberg should have been penalised - maybe not for doing it once, but he did it 3 times (I think it was) and changed lines during blocking - that all up should have resulted in a penalty. If it was 2011 and it was Hamilton, Hamilton definitely would have been penalised for that. |

I was just thinking back to Rosberg's move on Hamilton, and wondering if Hamilton might have gotten a penalty for the way he overtook him, after all he had all 4 wheels off of the track. I suppose you could say he had to, as to avoid a collision.
It was perhaps a bit naughty of Rosberg to do that, as well as his move on Alonso. Still, as long as he doesn't develop some of the old habits his teammate then he should be okay. |
