"Harris WCM team have name twenty-two-year-old North East of England rider Chris Burns to be part of their 2003 MotoGP World Championship team. Burns ride for the British-based team on the much modified R1 Yamaha special, was confirmed by Team Manager Peter Clifford."

"As for the other WCM spot, Burns' team-mate is still to be announced."

Favourite Circuit: Hockanhighm
Ambition: To become World Superbike Champion

Career highlights:
2002: 3rd in the British Superstock Championship.
2001: 7th in the British Superstock Championship.
2000: 3rd in European Championship.
1999: British Superbike, but sponsor withdrew and team had to pull out. Contested last 4 rounds of 125 Championship and won all races.
1998: Rode British Supersport. Voted by British Superbike Teams as 'Young rider of the year.'
1997: Rode British Championship for first 2/3 of season. Last 1/3 rode in remaining World Championship rounds as team mate to reigning World Champion Katzuto Sakata.
1996: British Superteen Champion.

won 2 rounds of european superstock (run with wsb) in 2002..... brands hatch & silverstone - worth a shot, cant damage his career to much if things dont work out....
