I think 99% of people refer to its a 'Caltex Chase'. It would have to be the worst return for money for any company other than Caltex who did or want to sponsor the chase. Down in Melbourne most people still call Etihad Stadium Telstra Dome. |

$50 m per season to finish races in 12th and be involved in massive scandals. Yet, I bet ING are sure pleased they signed up with Renault for almost Marlboro-Ferrari-like money now! Vodafone must be getting the most value possible out of V8s with their 50% win rate, even if 888 are operating at the maximum viable V8 racing budget. If they couldn't do better than the odd top 5, presumably Vodafone would bugger off F1-style? |

It kind of bothers me when it changed. Bathurst will still have Castrol Bend, BP Cutting, Murrays Corner and Hell Corner. Some sponsors stick, others less so.

Ive been going to Bathurst for over 20 years and watching it for over 30 and i have no idea what the Castrol Bend is
its time to let go use the generic names, we accept Hells or Murrys (have no idea who or what murrys is) We talk about the forrest elbow and the chase and the cutting, the esses. yes, but why add a sponsor. thast the medias job |

FPR & WesTrac
Interesting mention on the podium Saturday by Frosty of WesTrac .. more interesting with TC/VESA threat to leave WA off the circus.
Good thinking Frosty. |

.. it seems they have a huge contingent on the ground also. Especially since the bloke who owns Westrac also owns #7 A CAT car for FPR next season perhaps? |
