nah, you're automatically #42. Which is okay by me as I won the NASCAR Winston Cup ages ago, driving the Bellsouth #42 car. Feels kinda "right"

Franchitti and Scheckter are only in the Indy 500 for some reason.

I know that was the only race Franchitti ran last year, and Scheckter only had a limited schedule didn't he? I guess Paul Tracy isn't in the game

No, but there is a green and white #26 in there.....

AFAIK once you get further into the gam you can unlock Franchitti, Scheckter etc...to drive for them. They turn up at a couple of rounds as computer controlled don't they, like the likes of Wheldon, Renna and Luyendyk do in the game.....

I've been concentrating on Indy and the Masterclasses so far. I've done the rounds leading up to Indy, but while i can qualify upfront, my racing doesn't always go to plan.......

Scheckter is an odd one....he raced most of the season for Red Bull Cheever but appears in the game racing his 2003 Ganassi entry, but only at Indy. It's a weird one, maybe some kind of contractual issue?

Because you can't advertise Ciggies in a video game, and Penske only allowed Codemasters to use that paint scheme (although I think they did race that paint scheme once or twice a while ago...).

yeah, at Phoenix 2001 when they dipped their toe in towards the end of their CART campaign. Real livery or not, that does annoy me.

In the Penske Auto stores (the mercedes benz in sand diego they had a Penske indy car- and it was black like the game, so it is a cigarette thing and adverting to minors)
it looks pretty good and I am sure it will-look okay or make an appearance again at some event-like Indy so Ferrari can run colors there next time...

Didn't Scheckter do Indy with Ganassi last year after Cheever sacked him in the build up?

you can't unlock them, only their cars.

And you've probably already done enough for that; just go on "edit driver" and cycle through the teams avalible.

The Sheckter thing is very weird, he was driving for Cheever most of last season including Indy, ok I just looked at the site, weird, cos he didnt use the #22 this or last year, and how come Harrahs isn't on the AJ Foyt cars? I thought they were Casinos or something, or are they not allowed to advertised either?

With all the legal disputes between Eddie Cheever and Tomas Shecketer, it's hardly suprising he isnt in a Cheever car.

Hey, has anyone unlocked any of the classic cars yet? If so, what are they and how do you go about getting them?

Emerald Racing, I think it is. One of the CPU no namers that turn up at drive it. I'm pretty sure you can use it for your custom driver.

I've had a look on gamefaqs.com, and codemasters must have cut the six classic cars from the game or something, as thier is no mention of them in the list. But, on another fourum, somone did mention something about a "Reebok" car....

I did some research, and found this snippit from a codemasters interview:

"As with most games, some of the original design ideas never make it into the final game. Unfortunately the classic Indy 500 cars never made it this time, but who knows, perhaps in the future..."

funny on all the site like Electronics boutique, and gamestop.com the reviews all say you can unlock classic indy cars...HMMMM
