Best Touring Car Class

Mine would have to be Group C, because it allowed a great range of cars, like Ford and Holden V8s, Nissan Turbo's, Mazda's, Jaguar's, Camaro's and BMW's, all of which were smewhat competitive

Don't forget that there were Turbos in 85/86, like the Volvos, and early Sierras.

it was only in 1987 that the turbo's became more dominent. In 85 and 86 the nissan's were competitive but no more competitive tha the commodore's, which showed as the holden's won bathurst and Jim Richards the endurance title, although Robbie's Volvo did win the ATCC, the Volvo's were no where in the 86 ETC, which was won by Ravaglia's N/A BMW 635csi

87 was a funny sort of year, every man and their dog got themself a Sierra, but it took a fair while for them to tame the beast...DJR only got on top of it by 88, and didn't look back for some time...
