Hulkenberg in at ASM
I think we have our Euroseries champion for 2007!

Who? You mean the guy who was beaten by Ho-Pin Tung, Ferdinand Kool, Harald Schlegelmilch and Renger van der Zande in German F3 in 2006?
Hulkenberg's done well in A1GP, but F3 is a very different discipline... |

Yeah but he was in the Ligier for one.
I think he's come of age, and being in an ASM car, safe bet for the title. |

ASM has a strong line up again with Hulkenberg, Grosjean and Kobayashi, will be hard to beat in 2007.

All i know he is 110% dedicated to getting fit and racing an F3 car again in 2007! Or anyother car he can get in to beat others in.
Look at who this guy has thrashed over the last few seasons with little funding, i do not think a tiny problem of broken back and neck will stop him!! But we all know this... Go Joey!!! |

His results dropped off rapidly when he started using the Ligier.

3 podiums in 8 starts with Dallara
3 podiums in 10 starts with Ligier Not a great difference! |

Ah, got my facts wrong. But he still won early on with the Dallara and then never won with the Ligier.

if so,there is no necessity that changing to dallara. in addition to he and his team may couldn't make full panformance from dallara rapidly after changing. |

Uh... The change was from Dallara to Ligier. Not to Dallara... I can't say whitchone was better car but apparently they both were worse than Lola.

Well whatever was the case back then, the fact is that the guy's shown some form in A1 and clearly can handle a more powerful car than an F3. I would've thought he might have been better off having a crack at FR 3.5?
Will he be able to re-adapt to the less powerful machines over a full season and keep his name up there as a future star? Last edited by chunterer; 26 Jan 2007 at 08:56. |

it might not be as simple as just getting back into a f3 car and driving fast though, especially not after a full season of a1gp.
mind you, the challenge is on to find someone who can't drive an asm car fast, really. |

Dillmann's quite useful. Won two races in French FRenault last year and was 8th in the Eurocup.

As Bella may be suggesting though, driving for ASM is a pretty darn good gig. Tough to turn that down without some other immediate option. |

Best of luck for Joey this week and for the rest of the season
Quote:
Bout time A1 team Britain ditched Robbie Kerr and put joey in the seat or Olly Jarvis (another guy Joey beat when they were in the same car)! Robbie cant seem to use a brake pedal without locking up. I reckon Lola should put some pressure on them to do that since Joey is a Lola driver and they how bloody good he is. Lets all wish him the best of luck this week, since he is going back to Germany to have the titanium cage taken out of his back (british docs, wouldn't do it bunch of unskilled pansies!). all going well he will be able to get back in the car in 4-6 weeks. He is fitter than ever after pushing himself to the max since sep in training and physio. |
