I was very impressed with Trackpass, used it on Sunday with the radio coverage. Quite good.

HMS is having engine problems in all their cars. They are going to switch out the engines in all cars. They think it is lifter problems. Other teams that use HMS engines will also probably switch them out.

So all those engine change guys will be at the back for the duels. This has no impact on Johnson, of course, who is locked into pole for Sunday. So he can probably take the chance to learn about the car in the pack.
It moves Boris Said to the front row for the first race also, which he must be pleased about. He has a very strong chance to qualify I reckon, I think only the Red Bull Toyota's will pose him problems. The second race is meaty in terms of non-qualifiers - will Dale Jarrett be shut out? At least he has his two teammates there to help him out. |

I kind of included him in as a starter already. There are two spots available in each race I think?

Why can't the channel which shows the 500 race not show the duels? 8 Channels available...at the moment channel 1 shows darts, channel 2 shows basketball, channel 3-8 show....nothing.

DW is loving it.
Vickers is trying to qualify, that spin does not help. He got Said-Headed by Boris. |

OK, for this first race, the following drivers are trying to qualify.
Boris Said, Brian Vickers, AJ Allmendinger, Steven Wallace, Bill Elliott, Sterling Marlin, and Long. The top two of these in the race will qualify, the rest go home. The positions of everyone in this race determine where they start, but I'm not 100% sure how that works. I think this first race determines who starts in the odd positions, 3rd, 5th, 7th etc... The second race, Patrick Carpentier, Villeneuve, Dale Jarrett, McClure, Ken Schrader, John Andretti and Barrett need to qualify. Again, the top two of these qualify, the others go home. The second race, I think, determines the starting positions 4th, 6th, 8th, 10th, 12th etc... Don't forget the front row was set on Sunday, Johnson and Waltrip. |

and 43rd (final) place on the grid goes to the most recent champion to have not yet qualified or the fastest driver in the qual session who has not made it thus far.

Another NASCAR virgin question - in DTM, different Audi teams will work together to stuff Merc (or vice versa); does that play a part in NASCAR?

Not really. It's more every man for himself.
Obviously, teammates help each other out but that's about it. |

Those stops worked out great for Ganassi. JPM gained positions and cycled out with his teammate.
Argh, the flippin' UK studio is back again! |

could be worse - at least they haven't got a brit to wet themselves over (in this race at least)
