My apologies...I reduced these pictures in size and do not know why they are posting so large.

This picture was taken almost a week ago at the BTCC event at Brands Hatch. It tells the story of Tim Harvey's big impact into the barrier . . and the result.

Great shot that, as you say, tells a story. Nice to see something a bit different. Also nice to see you resisted the temptation to post it in the art-or-crap thread!

Some very nice shots on here, well done
I would say my most spectacular photo / photo's would be a sequence of an Austin Healey (driven by most local driver to me - Marc Campfield) crashing and rolling at Paddock Hill bend at the Classic Festival at Brands Hatch on the Saturday. Here's a small shot: Other shots I'm pretty satisfied with are: Sorry it's not just "one" picture, got a bit carried away!!! Obviously I have fullsize versions of the above shots, just posted small thumbs to be forum friendly Cheers |

Sorry for the double post. This one was not too bad, shame about the loo's in the background, will sort it once I get my mitts on photoshop for my mac. Background isn't as blurred I think due to the angle of the shot. Have some others and may post them on the Goodwood thread. Any feedback comments welcome, but go easy!!
Mods if these are too big then let me know & I will try and resize them. |

ok I have a point and shoot digi (Olympus Camedia) - there are some manual settings I can play with - how do I blur the background like that?

I did these by slowing the shutter speed down,( around 1/250) pre focusing before the car came and then panning with the car as it passed. This keeps the car nice and sharp and blurs the background. This was my first try at this and I got about 30% return with the rest being deleted. It helps if you have continuos frames. I'm not sure if the Camedia range will give you shutter priority but if so give it a try. Remember to try and get level with the car and an unfussy background, i.e trees or spectators heads will give a good effect. |
