As a rule, I would say that Coulthard has been a gentleman and earlier in the season, seemed to be Schumacher's only real competition. It is apparent that there is little love lost between DC and TGF. Not to imply that Hakkinen and Schumacher are friends, but their mutual respect is obvious.
DC and TGF have had many comings together, Argentina in '98, Spa in '97, (legendary for the hysteria). Until this year, DC often came off worse. I think DC's lack of forcefulness made him seem an easy mark to Schumacher and this past year DC decided that he wasn't going to put up withit any longer. It seems odd that a man should be maligned for sticking up for himself. DC cost himself a serious run for the WDC with the startline gaffs at Indy and Montreal. But he was an innocent victim in third place at Monza and his race was ruined by the looney in Germany. Add back the six points of which he was stripped in Brazil and I think he had a pretty decent season.
Jersound, but I'm sooo fond of Liz's coinage "TGF"-it says it all for me.
