Good to see Opel/GM getting back into the touring car business - now all we need are works Astras in the BTCC.

Impressive numbers for a new series. Are they running on the same card as the ADAC GT Masters?

GM10 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
I wonder why in Germany and Benelux there are so many young drivers interested and enthusiast in taking part to TCR series while in Italy there are only gentlemen to form the entry list...

I can't really understand this.

I searched informations about Spanish and Thailand series.

Spanish series will run alongside the Campeonato de España de Resistencia in the "Clase 1", with five events: Catalunya, Lédenon, Aragón, Valencia and Jarama.

Thailand series will run a stand-alone series within the Thailand Super Series weekends. Three races in Buriram (the last one with the Asia series), then the 28 August round of the International series (not clear because it will be ran in Shanghai, not in Thailand), a round in Bira Circuit and the final in Bangsaen Street Circuit.

EuropaBambaataa should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Portuguese team Veloso Motorsport just announced two SEAT Leon for CNVT/TCR Portugal.

The car count so far is:
- Veloso Motorsport - 2x SEAT Leon
- Team Novadriver - 1x VW Golf (another possible, not likely)
- Speedy Motorsport - 1x SEAT Leon (second car likely)
- Ventilações Moura - 1x Opel Astra

Sports & You are not running this year. No TCS cars announced or likely. About 10 Abarth 500 cup cars will help make up the grid.

Finnish team is very likely LMS Racing and their driver Antti Buri. I've seen pictures of their tests.

Another calendar change for the Italian series.

This is (I hope) the final 2016 calendar:
8 May Adria
12 June Misano
3 July Magione
17 July Mugello
4 September Vallelunga
25 September Imola
30 October Monza

Looks like no Golfs for Italy:

8 customer teams for the Golf GTI TCR:
  • Engstler Motorsport (Germany + International)
  • Kai Jordan, (Germany)
  • D&T Drive & Training (Germany)
  • W-Racing Team (Benelux + International)
  • Gtps Delahaye Racing Team (Benelux)
  • Milo Racing (Benelux)
  • Gusto Technik Performance (Asia)
  • Novaplus Gestão Desportiva (Portugal)

Team names come from an official VW press release.

I think the names are those of the companies that bought and run the cars, not necessarily those that appear on the entry lists.
