driftwood has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
The 847 car to EEC went to richard piper in UK he ran it in thundersports with Texas DIY store livery circa 87 88 seasons
then it went to belgian collector who had it until last month

chequeredcareer should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Rk 847

Jeez Jim, being a little harsh on the 847 aren't we? History shows marginal victories by Roe over the RK 847. Both Roe and Crawford finished well ahead of the rest of the field in those races. The occasional win by Crawford was posted too. Never mind, it's all history now, and we'll never know if Jim C actually disliked the car as much as you claim. Perhaps the RK's crew chief or engineer at the time couldn't figure out the car? Perhaps the driver's weren't up to it? Competitive motor racing is like that, blame the equipment.
It's been a while since viewing this forum, and after reading the negative posts by Jim G, I decided to load up my RK 847 #001 and take it to Reno-Fernley Raceway (October 3rd 2007) and ring the RK's neck! It's not at the cutting edge of modern day racing car technology of course, but I wouldn't say it is a dog! I don't class it as a horrible car at all. A days worth of trouble free driving in the RK sure put a smile on ones face I can assure you. Yesterday was such much fun, I think I will take it to Thunderhill next month and open her up again. Yes, it is a "rare and collectable" race car, the only real March RK847 Can Am on the track today. I feel proud to have it. I will try and post pictures and perhaps a link to a short video clip taken yesterday of the beast in action.
Cheers, Greg

Some video of the 847 testing at Fernley here:

I'd forgotten how scary the 82C tub was, hadn't seen one since getting one of the Truesports cars ready for sale in 1984.
