I also realised that the track is based where the old one used to be, you can still see the old hairpin where they used to plough into each other!

Wonder if Gibsons tyre wall is still there aswell!!

Must have been weird for Hunsbedt, didnt he win his first A Final there in the M3 in 89 or 90??

Track looked very good actually, really challenging, and ERC looks really competetive this year, plenty of guys on the pace

Yes, he sure is. Andreas have used the first two years to learn the rallycross driving style well. What do you think about the overtaking of Isachsen? Fair or ruff? Isachsen was angry and protested. I think it’s an ok rallycross overtaking, but I am Swedish so I am maybe a bit bias.

Andreas said in the interview that he is sick of being second, third, fourth or fifth. “This was my race. Isachsen was angry at me but he drives very wide. He have to learn to protect the inside line. My car works wery well at the inside line”.

shhh has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Good to see from watching the footage that Issachsen's English is up to scratch

Compare the Hungarian footage with the Austrian. There you will see the difference between jokerlap and no jokerlap...

You have things confused. The circuit you are thinking about is Melk, where they indeed have build a new circuit. They last competed there in 2004. Melk used to alternate with the track in Horn, until both of them went off the ERC calendar in the mid-nineties.
This circuit they drove on this year is Greinbach, where they have been driving ERC since 2002.

Are you in the wrong movie, mate…? Melk and Greinbach are completely different venues.

PS: Just saw that WJM was a little quicker…

Rob Gibson’s big 6R4 shunt at Melk was in 1991. The last ERC round at the old Wachauring at Melk was in 2001. As WJM said for 2004 the venue was completely changed. And the last ERC round at the Nordring/Fuglau was in 1997.

oh forgive me, the start line and some of the corners on the 07 round looked like thay had been used in rallycross in the 80's. The track was a different layout, but from some of the tapes I have the start/finish area looked very similar to one of the Austrian tracks from the 80's/90's.

Forgiven!!! But at Melk you would always get a glimpse of that GIANT monastery in the background. The best picture background RX ever had – but with the new track layout gone for good.

Is bizarre though, have just looked again and the start line and first turn are p[retty much the same, off the grid, plunging downhill into a fast left that used to go onto loose then into a tight hairpin that is in the footage but not used!

And the final bend is a tight left hander with a long straight before it, tracks must ahve been desigend by the same bloke as parts of them are identical in layout!!
