kerrmanningjarv should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
So what's the problem with GBR then?

Sponsorship cash is my guess if they don't turn up.

F3 Rocks should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
The official website is putting out news stories, such as Salvador Duran returning for Mexico and Marco Andretti staying in the USA car, but is strangely quiet in other areas. There has been no word as to who will drive for GBR, with Danny Watts otherwise engaged with the arrival of his and his partner's first child.

No GBR this round

OK, I'm just getting frustrated because you're saying my team won't be at the next round and it would be nice to know why.

That is good news As for team GBR: I am sure there are enough talented British drivers around in Asia, Australia or the Pacific rim to go around with. No need to bring someone in from Europe if you ask me

Which part is good news? Salvador Duran coming back?

As for Team GBR, if the decision not to race at Taupo is down to economics, I'm sure it's not just the cost of getting a driver there that is the problem.

But I agree with kerrmaningjarv. It's not enough just to say that GBR won't be there, even in a forum such as this. We would like to know why and if there is a link to a news story confirming the fact. There is no mention of GBR in the official preview here, which I suppose confirms the story in a way.

I shall be cheering for Adam Carroll, and hope that Salvador Duran and Narain Karthikeyan also do well.

I'm not sure - that post was moved by one of the mods from another thread into this one, so I dunno what good news Richard was talking about.

And as for GBR at Taupo - they are listed in the latest press release as participating in the PR activity before the event - so maybe they will be there after all. We'll see.

the good news was, before the topic was split, that the cars had arrived in Taupo.

My understanding is that members of the GBR team either flew out to New Zealand on Saturday or are flying out Monday evening (tonight). The car is already there.

So hopefully see GBR there. Still no news on the driver... Winslow or Kerr I think.

It makes sense to use Kerr as he's raced there before and he was F3 testing before Christmas, so he should be not too rusty.

Whilst I was trying to find a story confirming that GBR would not be there, I came across this. All it does is confirm that Danny Watts will not be there, which we've known for ages.

I still think it's all a bit late. If I were the driver would prefer to have arrived at the weekend to get used to the time difference, but they're a lot fitter than I am, so maybe it doesn't matter so much.

There is no news confirming they either will or won't be - but they're usually slow confirming drivers so hopefully we'll hear something in the next few days.

As for Winslow, he was rookie there last year and was announced as reserve driver for this season, so I wouldn't be too surprised if he was picked. Plus he is rookie eligible too so he can have maximum time to learn the track.

Think they should have used Ben Clucas at Taupo if they run as he has raced and won there before is faster than Winslow!

I've lost interest now, so stand by original comment, although I agree Ben Clucas would be the best choice.

There is an unsubstantiated rumour that Dan Clarke will be driving for GBR this weekend.

Very quick but hope he's learned a bit of patience since last time I saw him in a race car.

Yes, it is Dan Clarke. Confirmed in his own words on Facebook. He's flying from the States, so maybe the time difference won't be so great.

I shall be watching with interest! Dan Clarke is exceptionally quick in any race car. Just hope he keeps it on the road!
