Does anyone know when qualifying is/was for f3000 Interlagos, or any grid results.

Qualifying is taking place now.

Ricardo Sperafico is on provisional pole for Petrobras.

At one point both Ricardo and Rodrigo Sperafico were on the front row of the grid together. Timing listed both as R Sperafico which was useful

Ricardo Sperafico and Antonio Pizzonia are dominating things at the moment whilst the Super Novas are spinning all over.

Many of the newcomers doing really well. Should be an exciting and interesting race.

And in case anyone wonders - D Hill on p 17 is not Damon, but rather Derek Hill, son of 1961 F1 World Champion Phil Hill.

I'd just like to give congratulations to Justin Keen for that session. 23rd might not look brilliant, but considering how he first drove the car (first ever drive in F3000 car?) in first practice yesterday, to be within 2 secs of pole impressed me. Outqualified Mikola (Astromega) and Freisacher, but most importantly his team-mate, Yann Goudy (who he?).

F3000 doesn't have free practice which makes some of the performances even more impressive.

This was probably the most level playing field we will see in F3000 this year. The first qualifying session was the first time *most* of the drivers had driven the circuit, and it's easy to pick out the one's who do have previous experience!!

To be fair, the only reason Keen outpaced Friesacher is because the Austrian didn't go out in the first session at all (don't know why) and I believe he only completed a handful of laps, if that, in the second session. Friesacher has consistently been one of the best rookies of the year so far, and I'm sure that position is nowhere near what he is capable of under normal conditions.

Disappointing sessions for the Super Nova boys, especially Haberfeld, and very disappointed by Darren Manning. 15th is really not where you should be with Darren's experience, especially on a circuit unfamiliar to everyone. Wonder what his excuse will be?

Also disappointed that Bourdais didn't manage to do better. Again I think he went off early in the second session (there was a black car on the infield on the final uphill climb before the pits for almost the entire session) after being on pole for a while in the first session.

Disappointed also by the Brasilian camera men's bias. Okay, you would expect them to show a fair bit of Pizzonia etc, especially as they were doing well, but we seemed to follow them for laps on end, and only got occiasional clips of anyone other than the natives. And that was mainly only when they were in the gravel or beached on the kerbs. So Derek Hill got a fair bit of coverage!!

Can't wait for the race this evening!
