Well, is there a clause that says Ten can't get out of it?

I don't think the share Foxtel has in Ten has given the Ten Network an unlimited budget.

agreed, no argument, I have run a race team, one could argue if you wish that i "was" a team manager.

However I am not a team manager. Dont claim to be.

but thanks for dragging up an irrelevant post and using it out of context

Interesting piece from Joe Saward re Formula One and the shift to a pay-TV model.

Highly relevant to V8 Supercars.

https://joesaward.wordpress.com/2016/01/19/coverage/

Joe states that free to air attracts 7 times the number of viewers over pay TV Formula One coverage.

Replace the words "Commercial Rights Holder" and "CVC" in the article with "V8 Supercars" and the similarities are sadly striking.

I wonder if Ten will be streaming V8 Supercars live on tenplay. As Ten has been streaming live events like Studio10, The Bold and The Beautiful, TEN News, Family Feud, The Project, I'm A Celebrity and Get Me Out Of Here! NOW. Rather than people watching it on the TV

From what I have heard, Ten could start broadcasting the V8s in HD this year on Ten. From the beginning at the Clipsal 500

I'd have thought the streaming rights are tied up with OVO.

Im so trying understand that deal however ovo is the official telecommunications partner, its in the wording but i dont think you get the races, you get commentary though.

streaming rights are with foxtel, however we are wondering what ten play may show as a replay

As i said though, not sure how the ovo deal works, its using some tricky wording which may not be what it is, Hopefully someone actually uses it and lets us know

This is bound to start a whole new debate.

http://www.v8supercars.com.au/news/c...ntary-line-up/

Looks like they got the band back together

Other than Larko it's the same Channel 7 line up.

Was kinda hoping Rust replaced Rihana in the pits.

Skaife was much better suited to his role last year than the commentary job he had previously. His blokey, inside joke routine with Crompton was beyond annoying. Not only was he decidedly cliched and low brow but Crompton had to stoop down to his level.
A life time sinecure with V8SA is obviously rewarding.

Im guessing Skaifey ego got put out of shape last year cause he was not in the main seat with Cromerly, just wished that they dumped that dumb blonde, Rusty will be good in the pits with Mr Potato Head.

That "dumb blonde" can probably write something using some decent punctuation etc

V8 Supercars back to TEN in 2015!!!!! (Merged x6)

Not a fan of Rusty or Skaife in the commentary box, they annoy me both equally but in different ways. Rianna is ok as a pit reporter, Murph does alright, I didn't mind some of the commentary he did last year. How about Aaron Noonan?

I saw Greg Rust at B12 this year taking pics and mingling with us peasants on the hill, with all the frantic swiping he was doing on his phone it looked like he was on tinder

Crompo and Skaife in the booth is fantastic.

Just get Larko back in the pits and it'll be perfect again.

I get the impression Ms Crehan is being made to fit the 'dumb blonde' act, with the questions she's being fed to ask, etc.

Away from the V8SC coverage, and speaking freely, she actually does comes across as someone who has their wits about them.

Not everybody has the talent to speak on air fluidly - sadly I believe she does not have it.

Have you-or anyone else from here met her in person? I can see where you're coming from with your train of thought.

Ive meet her, I quite enjoy having her as a pit lane reporter,

Now skaife that's another story, in the heat of the moment his bias shows through and always takes the holden side.

however his roll last year was great, as he was caught up in the heat of the moment as his roll was pre/post race

Got to agree, Skaife just can't seem to help himself sometimes. In saying that, listening to him and some of his skaifeisms can be quite entertaining
