Neither Scott Pye or Percat are off contract. I'd love to see them in the B12 but they are both under contract to V8Supercar teams and they may well end up at the test day as co-drivers.

Interesting to see how that plays out. Their contracts and roles with the teams they were tied to in 2014.

From a V8Supercar perspective I dont believe co drivers are required to be at the test day

Correct. Not required by V8S

however its possible that some teams may want their co drivers at the day for all or part. That would be up to the teams though and as they pay the money that's fair enough. Still i reckon unlikely

Agreed. They would probably want them getting laps at Bathurst rather than watching a test session

Interesting tweet from Dean Canto just moments ago... "Soooo looking for a drive in the 12 hour now after the owner has decided to change class. Just what i wanted for Xmas". Ryan Dalziel also tweeting that he's keen for a spin.

What car was Canto down for?

Perhaps the team owner is going for the "Am" class and needed to shed one of the Pro's, leaving Canto out?

Perhaps it was a ride with Mr Griffiths.. who ran his Ginetta this year, but has updated his car to an F430 (and not entered it in the B12H) ?

He's not having much luck after not getting a race lap this year.

I think he is pretty disappointed looking at his twitter page.

Hopefully he can pick up a ride elsewhere.

Erebus and the Quinn car will be interesting to see who they select in there cars.

Pretty decent addition to Audi stable.

Hopefully the Bathurst 12 Hour site can start filling in the drivers in each on the entry list part of the website.

That would be correct Peckstar.

Pure speculation but I would like to think some teams go after the likes of Aussie internationals with Bathurst experience - Ryan Briscoe, Will Power, James Davison.

Additionally these internationals with bathurst experience are also on the wish list for February 6th to 8th - Andy Priaulx, Mattias Elkstrom, Alex Tagliani, Alain Menu, Yvan Muller, Christian Klein.

Obviously too difficult to pick who's going to be the contenders with so many teams yet to announce their full driving line-ups, so of the Class A cars who have, who is going to be in with a realistic chance of winning the 12hr ?
Of the teams who have announced their full line-ups and the teams that we know are going to have a quality line-up, is it safe to say that the contenders will come from Erebus, Maranello, Clearwater, HTP, the 2 Lambo's, Nismo, VIP, M-Sport Bentley's, Phoenix, Maclaughlan Audi and Competition Motorsports ?
Your thoughts ?

Your thoughts ?
Erebus - Very likely. Fast cars, might be a bit skewed towards the commercial side in drivers though. $1.50
Maranello - Very likely also. Fast cars and an impressive driver line up. Team has a long record and work well togethor. $1.20
HTP - If still in a Benz then another very likely candidate. Came oh so close last year despite having some terrible luck along the way that should have put them out. $1.25
M Motorsport - Good car and driver line up. Team tends to make it's own mistakes and has been through some upheavel of late. $2.50
Lago Racing - Similar to M Motorsport but with more long distance experience. $2.00
AF Corse - Drivers have a fair bit of experience now. Have hjad good car speed int he past and the team is super professional. Very much a dark horse. $3.00 (Ditto Clearwater)
Nismo - Either not enough car speed or just the wrong car for the mountain. Losing Rick K will hurt. $5.00
VIP - Basic team with a good car but will sorely miss The Giz. $5.00
M-Sport - Question mark over the cars ability to do twelve hours in that heat. Drivers will struggle with acclimatisation. Flying B looks like a better option for Bentley. $10.00 ($5.00 for Flying B)
Phoenix - Not a good car for Bathurst but with a good driver line up. Super professional crew. Could be a dark horse with the BOP that will be used. $5.00
MacLaughlin Audi - As above but with lesser driver and crew talent. $25.00
Competition Motorsports - No. $100.

excellent post, you seem to have a very good handle on things. I agree with a lot of what you said, but would tweak the pricing a little for some. most A cars are fast enough to win it, you just have to stay on the lead lap. I'm still lost how htp could be 2 laps down yet finish 2nd? a bit of luck I guess. so if there are no mechanical problems and no roos , look at the fastest AM driver. my fake money is on maranello. will be great to see who runs Michelin and who runs Pirelli, and if the 'new' Michelins are an improvement?
