Interesting to note who is fading late in the race. Pier Guide in the 62 Risi Ferrari has faded. In GTD, Mies in the 29 Audi, plus the Lexus and Acura contenders have faded from the fight for the lead.

Extreme Speed should be 3 time overall winners since they were robbed in 2014 by a NASCAR-esque full course yellow. Of course the 2014 Sebring might have been the worst sportscar race in history.

I don't think ESM ever won GTLM in the Ferrari 458.

Good race, good for ESM and good for Derari to have a revenge for his PLM error, great for Lapierre because he suffer with Handman, and it's a redemption of Le Mans too, after the st**id crash from Trumer.

In general, I think the DPi cars are too fast compared with the P2. They need a small adjustment to make it more equal. Other way we will see less and less P2 cars.

The thing I'll take away from this race that nobody's said is that it's no longer a question of IF the Mazda RT24-P will ever be able to win a race... It's now a question of WHEN will it win a race.

It's got to sting them that they did so well to prove the doubters wrong only to have one bad luck moment take away the closest thing to a guaranteed podium you can get in racing.

Guessing we'll get 15 DPI/LMP2 cars and 8 GTLMs for a 23 car grid. Probably a good thing GTD is not going back there.

The GT races were fantastic today. Very pleased we got the winners we did with Porsche GT Team and Paul Miller Racing. Too bad we got so many full course yellows. At least ESM did not screwed over by one this time like in 2014.

The #55 kept turning off its lights on purpose because its battery was almost dead, they did everything to try and keep the juice for the last stop, but it wasn't to be.

2012 winners at Petit with the Ultimat Vodka branding. And at Mosport that year as well in the usual ESM colors, both Sharp and JVO driving.

Just got back after a grueling 12-hour race ( ) and other than who won, I have pretty much no clue what happened … except there were only two yellows in the first five hours, and one of them was for an awning which wanted to test its powers of flight.

I guess Pipo Derani schooled the field yet again, Cadillac showed that even though it has the most of everything it isn’t always the best, Porsche did “tough and fast” successfully … and veteran Brian Sellers teamed up with one of the Youngest drivers, Madison Snow, for a hard-fought GTD win.

I didn’t see a lot of the race but I walked three-quarters of the track … man, those Corvettes looked so lovely coming down the chute from Six to seven …. Best-looking cars on the track. Never saw them that way before. Too bad they are slow. 

Oh … and whichever cosmic force Mazda has run afoul of, they need to make whatever appropriate appeasements. Those guys can’t catch a break except heartbreak.

A team of fiction writers could come up with as many horror-story plots as Mazda has struggled through since going prototype.

Eager to watch the replay and read this thread and get a bigger picture.

I miss seeing ESM in GT. To see the patron colors in a Ferrari 488 in GTLM would be neat. But you can't deny their success in the Ligier/Nissan package in 2016 and now 2018.

I think that was probably the best race since the merger.
+All the DPis were pretty much spot on even. Fantastic driving for the most part.
+The GTLM race was fantastic. The BMWs were mighty fast at the beginning and threatened to run away but the Porsches and the Ferrari slowly but surely started to assert control. Then the safety cars brought the BMW #25 back into play. The Fords were thereabouts and the Corvettes...well, it's the oldest car in the class by two years. And IMSA are unlikely to afford Pratt & Miller the kind of help that Aston Martin have received from the ACO.
+The GTD race was ridiculous. From my perspective it was a shame that the two Porsches had problems but that can't detract from the race as a whole.

Negatives
-Overly aggressive restarts.
-The number of safety cars. Also the procedure is still silly.
-The gap to the LMP2s.
-Biggest negative was RLM. I used to allow them a few mistakes but sad to say they've become shockingly , frustratingly bad in recent years. Are the screens in the comms box the size of a phone or something and do they view them from five metres? How do they miss the blatantly obvious?

Overall, probably the best Sebring I've ever seen (though I've only been watching since 2007).

They repeatedly mis-identified the car that hit the tyres in the middle of the road as the #55 Mazda. That Mazda is dark red, has green and white ID lights the whole length of the fin and its tail-lights are on the wing endplates.
The car that hits the tyres is mostly white, has a single red ID light on top of the engine intake and its tail-lights are on the cheese wedges. It is therefore Romain Dumas in the CORE Oreca.
