I think I'd like to see Ford in Sportscars with a Ford badged car. It's always good to see the more manistream manufacturers doing something that as well as the smaller specialists.

would like to see Mazda with their own in-house car, like the this new concept car, it is to be unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show. Note the driver names of Bach and Devlin on the side.

....."Mazda will launch another concept of the much acclaimed Nagare design language. Dubbed the Furai, it is based on a Courage prototype chassis. Power comes from a three rotor rotary engine."

Satorian has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!

Norbert Haug is actually a really nice guy. At least he comes across that way in interviews. When watching F1, Premiere usually get him for a good amount of pre-/post-race screen time, and I've never heard him say a bad word about someone else. He seems to be a quite reasonable and friendly chap.

But, of course, I'd like to see BMW enter GT racing. Also, Nissan with a GT-R derivate and Mazda with a proper Wankel.

You don't like the new C-class? I've never been a fan, but I think they are sharp. Definitely better than the Bangle Bimmers.

I think anyone that puts together a solid program is more than welcome to join the fray. M-B would definitely put together a top notch effort. Is Norbert really any worse than Wolfgang?

Absolutely agree with this. I would really like the GT to compete in GT1 class.
Whatever happened to that privateer from two years ago? Thought he was trying to enter the 24h

Ford GTRs are said to be entered by Robertson Racing and Doran in the ALMS.

Indeed, thanks. Just had a look at the Dec'07-update, and is looks promising. We'll be seeing a GTR in rl at Sebring by the looks of it!

(and then to think I'm planning a road trip from Denver to Sebring in a Mustang )

I think there have been clashes between Merc and Audi in the DTM, though? I guess that should have been expected anyway.

I'd love to see the M5 or M6 in GT Racing - an engine like that is just screaming to be let loose down the Mulsanne, isn't it?

NewBob, that Video you posted last week, on your video collection, of the Lola Judd testing, what team is that?

I think you've got something a little mixed up, I haven't posted any videos in three months, and I've never posted any testing videos...

Dang

there was a video ( I cant find it now) by "TheNewBob" which showed the new Lola with V10 Judd powerplant testing at Paul Richard, in mid Dec.

I thought that was you with the same Nic.

Yeah, well, he is a professional and businessman, and certainly no stranger to power plays and political trickery. Of course he's still representing the interests of a multi-billion corporation. Beyond that though, as a personality, he seems like a nice guy to have around the tracks, once outside of the boardrooms.

Sadly just neither chassis seems well suited to the task. Assuming the rumoured Z8/Z10 comes around, I'd certainly like to see that one hit the GT racing scene. A GT2 study based on the new M3 and compliant with the new FIA/ACO/SRO rules and regulation is supposed to be presented at some Amercian Autoshow in January.

Still, I'd like BMW to create an M1 successor. A stylish, sleek mid-engine coupe chassis (preferably designed by Henrik Fisker in cooperation with the M GmbH) and go nuts with the engine. Something like a tuned and updated 6l version of the V10 would tickle my fancy.

If you mean YouTube then it's me. But I can honestly say I didn't post the vid! I've never even been to a sportscar test day.

Jaguar is no longer to Ford since recently(bought by Tata)

Personally I'd also like to see Lancia back in the endurance prototypes world

The sale has not happened. There are 2 other bidders: Mahindra & Mahindra and One Equity Partners.

Manufacturers that would be very welcome back in sports car racing:

LMP1: Ford with a Lola chasis have been successful in the past and would be a welcome entry into present day LMP1. Mercedes would also be a solid entry. How about Renault or Matra? Also Lancia with a Ferrari engine! Everyone is certainly looking forward to a Chevy entry.

GT1/GT2: I would love to see a GT1/GT2 from Jaguar or bring back an updated version of the Lister Jag. Alfa Romeo could make a nice GT2 but wouldn't do so with Ferrari in it.

I'd like to see Ferrari make a GT1 car based on the 599 GTB, a successor to the 550 and 575s Prodrive ran.
