Interesting, sadly I only saw your post just now! Would've loved to see how it looked now, sadly ad has already expired. Any idea who actually bought it?

Nice pics! Good to see this thread is reinvigorated again! How I would love to see a Sunny in that livery again on the track in historic racing, would make a nice change to the hoards of Escorts and BMW 2002s..

historic racer should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
These cars were not quite what they seemed, I remember many years ago Martin telling me that when his engine was stripped for a rebuild there were parts in it definately not in the homologation papers and one of the cars ( at BTCC 1973 ) was fitted with a non homologated 5 speed box but they put the 4 speed gearknob on it, so that made it alright then ????

According to the homologation form, in june 1972 a five-speed gearbox was homologated, with another one added in sept 1973.

The Sunny really is a bit of mystery to me. What I do know for sure is that one went to Trinidad in the late seventies. That car had the Dutch colours red-white-blue. What I noticed though is that the Janspeed cars that raced in Britain were all coloured red-white-brown. Like it was the case in 1976 Sunnys racing simultaneously in Holland and Britain. So I guess, there were two cars as I assume they would not spray the cars a different colour scheme each time it had to race in another country

Anyone, help us out..
The Janspeed sunny was here in trinidad in the 80s. Owned and raced by Dave MAraj (Now I believe the largest Porsche dealer in US or world- Champion Porsche) It caught fire in practice at our beloved Wallerfield circuit but most of the parts then went into his road 310 reg PAJ3199. It eventually was sold to a Tennis dude, Dexter Seecharran in great shape and years later seemed battered doing Pizza deivery. I believe the car is dead now (both the racecar and the streetcar and trust that the parts are in quite a few race cars here.
