Oulton Park Gold Cup

I think I'm not alone when I say that I now find the Gold Cup a highlight of the Oulton calendar, and am really looking forward to going there for all the weekend.

Who else is going to be there?

Thought I'd heard somewhere the Sat was a no public day

I'll be there Sun / Mon It's the highlight of the Oulton year certainly and with the grp B rally cars on the stage as well I was there for the test day they had and it was better than the track action!

Does anyone know which version of the circuit is going to be run?

I know it's always been the full circuit in the past.

Certainly is international circuit.

Saturday is a test day in the morning and qualifying in the afternoon but marshals will be there!

I'd like to go, but I'll be at Brands, and Oulton is a bit of a trek from there! Maybe next year (I think I said that last year!)

There seemed to be large numbers of spectators braving the changeable weather, especially on the Monday. What did people think?

The Slowly Sideways boys were a highlight for me. Normally get to see them round the Stoneleigh car park for the Historic Motorsport Show, they were much more suited to the wider spaces of Oulton on what was more like a proper rally stage. Either they packed the wrong tyres or those Group B cars are harder to drive than you think as they were all struggling with cronic understeer on the very wet tarmac.

Good mix of classes and cars on track as well. Only managed Monday, may have to try to get to both days next year.

I understand that the 'gate' was up on last year - a good sign I think?
