Has the ADESS been deemed a failure already? I mean I know there was huge crash for AAI's second chassis at Thailand that made it DNS (unlike before), but still, it's just been loads of mechanical and other problems for the chassis. Not to mention it's been off pace. It could face the same fate as Ginetta and we'll only be left with the Onroak mass invasion, and maybe some obscure Riley and Dome in between. Though for this season, there are some ADESS entered in Europe so if other teams have better time with it there might be hope yet. Maybe AAI is just not fully up to the task.

SC365 has a write up on qualifying at Sepang. Interesting that the pole was 1:58.6 by the Algarve Pro Ligier Nissan. Compare that to the 2013 pole time in Super GT, a 1:55.4 by the Impul GTR. GT300 was also a good deal faster than the AsLMS cars, even the GT3's- 2:03.9 (Porsche GT3) in SGT vs 2:06.1 (Audi R8) in AsLMS.

Yup and, still, very good gap for AsLMS P2s. During the Fuji WEC weekend, they were 5.5s slower than WEC's LMP2, quali-wise
Audi R8 qualified 2.7s slower than LMTGE faster lap at the same weekend, so, that gap is also expected GT500 is only 14% heavier but is 39% more powered, so LMP2s shouldn't be this close. They only are because their lower weight, together with more downforce, gives them an upperhands on the faster corners |

Looking at the results, what problems did the ADESS have today then? It's been a terrible campaign so far for the chassis, are the European customers scared already?

I'm beginning to think it's all part of a plan that was designed to make P3 an unofficial Onroak/Oreca-monopoly.

@Arthur, I think it's the other way around in terms of downforce. GT500 has as much or more than lmp2. I compared this race weekend to 2013 times with the last generation GT500's which are a lot less powerful. |

ADESS is living on the prayer. If they did expect to beat Ligier by having a pair of cars run by Team AAI itself, they had been overoptimistic and left behind a trace of disaster and bad performance. They say life is full of surprises. That our dreams really can come true. Then again, so can our nightmares.

As expected, no LM auto entries, but winning gives you 'free' ASLMS entry... |
