They would have to shuffle the calendar around a bit, but the 24 hour race will always be the priority, so it wouldn't matter too much. We'll have to see how things go the next few months, no point making a decision now till they know what's what

All same engine.

From 2012 to 2018 they were using Radical 2.7L V8, since 2019 Oreca 2L turbo. Before 2012 cars had different engines.

Unless the Oreca is based on a Honda-block, SP3T seems to be out then:

Essentially, you can swap out the engine, but only for one from the same manufacturer. There might be a bit more leeway in SP-X, but I'm not sure about that either.

I hope this project happens, because the ST2000s are some seriously cool cars, but for right now, I'm somewhat skeptical.

I almost forgot an important thing:

The team running/developing the STC2000 car is also developing a TCR car (official Toyota project). I assume they don't do engine development inhouse but they could use that engine for the N24. Would make sense.

That's an interesting idea. It depends if they can make the TCR engine competitive for both short distance and long distance racing. But it could work

TCR cars are made for sprint AND endurance racing.

There's already quite a sizable number of TCR cars competing in the 24h Series and which do the N24 anyway
