Moss Trophy Race Regs

I was very interested to read the additional regulations of Jaguar E-Types in the Moss Trophy regulations: "Jaguar E-types running in the Moss Trophy must be fitted with full chrome, including front and rear bumpers, headlight surrounds and bonnet trim strips. Additionally, E-type Roadsters must run with the original hood rather than a detachable hard top."

I have not seen many cars running with full trim and bumpers (ours is one of the only ones I have seen with the front grille bar), but I don't recall having ever seen an E-Type, or indeed Period E car, racing with a soft-top (period photos excepted of course ). I wonder how many will have made the change.

It’s basically “pre 63” so the E Types should have all the bumpers etc., as I think they do in Carol's series? As for racing with the soft top, I guess most would choose to run ‘open’ instead..... Which brings us to the question of weather for the event- His Lordship has been blessed in previous years in that ‘cold and windy’ is about the worst suffered. Think first year was scorchio for March? Fingers crossed this time for everyone racing and spectating that the current ‘beast from the east’ is long gone in the next 2+ weeks. There’ll be be hell to pay if the daffs are not in full bloom by the 18th!

Indeed. I'm watching the weather forecasts for this Friday. Still showing cold and sleet.

On the plus side the photographers might have to come up with something more original than the usual shots through daffodils! (Couldn't find a yawn emoji).

According to an Autosport tweet today, Mr Coulthard is due to race a 300SL in the Salvadori Cup. Of course that may already be common knowledge......

Thanks for that.
Looking at GM race, about time a Vauxhall Magnum was on the list, does anybody know the the history of this one? Nice to see a few different cars this year, although I will miss the noise of the RX7’s.
1981 Volvo 242, was that N/A or turbo? I thought turbo was later in the 80’s.
