Bianchi for me. Is it just me who suspected that Force India had a better car in 2010/11 than the results showed? It was I think essentially a development of the 2009 car which showed such pace at the end of that season except it worked well on all tracks and not just the low downforce circuits, Mercedes engines, the McLaren link and some occasionally eye catching pace. But Sutil never convinced. Even at the back end of 2009. He was never able to pick up where Fisi left off with what looked like potentially a race winning package and in the next two years seemed content to 'lead' the team with comfortable points finishes but nothing else. Touch of the Heidfelds? And when you think he was up against Liuzzi and then DiResta - no disrespect to either, but not really team-mates who are going to push someone with top-end ability.
We know what Sutil's like, he's alright. He's not the future. Jules has by far the greater potential for future seasons IMO. No brainer if it's not all about economics (which it might be) |

i voted for Bianchi but a little surprised that he is winning this poll by over a 2 to 1 margin.
pay drivers makes sense these days so its really refreshing to see a team go a different way by letting two non pay drivers fight it out over who will win the seat. im sure there are financial deals in the background but without knowing those details im happier thinking its about merit. they should have made it into a TV show like they do with the 24/7 HBO sports series. |

Two non-pay drivers?! Sutil has always brought money to FI, probably in the region of 5-8m. Bianchi would be bringing some backing from Ferrari

This is getting tiresome. Will someone at Force India do the right thing and tell us who their second driver is going to be!

as for the Ferrari/Bianchi deal, dont know the details but one would think that whatever deal he brings comes at the expense of Di Resta's deal so its not necessarily an addition for the team. personally i dont think its getting tiresome at all and hope it goes on all season with each driver getting different races. |

I read an interesting description of what took place in that night club between Sutil and Lux..If the chap that wrote it is correct then the charge against Adrian seems extremely harsh..
Off topic sorry about that. If you want to read it go here.. http://www.jamesallenonf1.com/2013/0...comment-710251 |

jules doesn't have a particularly large wallet - otherwise we'd have seen people scrambling for his contract as soon as possible. |

It certainly puts the whole incident in perspective. The next question is why didn't Sutil's lawyers file an assault charge against Lux? It may have nipped the whole thing in the bud. "Lux comes over to a seated Ham and Sutil in the club VIP area, begins jawing to them (Lux had had the VIP area all to himself and his guests before Ham showed up with his guests). Lux leans over Sutil, and grabs Sutil’s left arm, and starts to lift him out of his chair. Sutil has a champaign glass in right hand from which he was drinking. CCTV clearly shows as he is pulled from his chair by Lux, he goes to push Lux away, but the glass was still in his hand as he had no time to get rid of it. At any rate, the right hand with glass pushes into Lux (not a punch, a push), glass shatters, and it hits Lux in the neck as it goes past. Somehow people equate that with some crazed attack by Sutil, but it is all on the club CCTV, and it was initiated by Lux against a sitting, chatting Sutil who happened to be holding a glass of champaign and went to defend himself with his one free hand – the one Lux didn’t grab. Lux has tried to ruin Sutil for the indignity of defending himself and Lux getting hurt in the process, because Lux is a rich CEO who thinks he should get away with anything. And that’s why I want Sutil back in a car for one more season to show if he can race…or not. But his career shouldn’t be ended by Lux out of spite. (NB – getting convicted of a crime in self-defence is a common occurrence in German courts…worse there than even in the UK)" from http://www.jamesallenonf1.com/2013/02/barcelona-test-day-4-alonso-tops-the-times-but-all-eyes-are-on-sutil/#comment-710251[/QUOTE] |

What happened that night in China is irrelevant now. Sponsors wont look beyomd the fact that he was convicted. I don't understand why FI don't seem to think that Sutil would drive sponsors away.

surely the reason for the delay is that companies are unwilling to commit to been connected with the 'toxic' Kingfisher/Ub & Sahara groups.
Why would you choose to risk having your brand been tarnished by association with two groups that are in imminent collapse due to financial and legal issues? |

If I were an FI board director, I would have done this too. The team needs money and also needs to try out a potential rising star. Paul offers neither at this stage and together, the other pair offer both.

Sky Sports News is reporting that Sutil's agent has confirmed that Adrian has the drive.
Latest Twitter rumours suggest Bianchi could rock up at Marussia in place of Razia... |

taking a marussia drive would be far better than a couple of races here and there at force india imo, it certainly did ricciardo no harm and got him plenty of track time. but on the other hand, i can imagine there being so very much drama if he rocked up and blew the other fella into the weeds.
stuck between a rock and a hard place really. |

Bianchi to Marussia makes sence for a number of reasons. Marussia have no engine deal for 2014, Ferrari don't appear to have any customer deals for '14 either and Toro Rosso seem to be going for Renault next year.
Who knows what might happen but it's not long till Melbourne when the bull s*** stops. |

minor point but that quote about the bullpoo stopping is vastly overused and completely inaccurate. if anything, it refines and gets infinitely more concentrated when the red lights go out.
