We have to say that Mazda has made an amazing job with that tiny engine and that old chassis. At Laguna they were most of the race on the leader lap. With a yellow flag just in time, they could win because of the low fuel usage. |

Above comments re marketing... the car is more about marketing the Skyactiv branding than purely diesel. The rumour is that Mazda will announce something at Watkins Glen...
Isn't the MazdaSpeed3 the MZR engine? The AER I4 Turbo is based off the same MZR-R block, and detuned down to P2 specs would probably be a very reliable engine. I can't imagine it would be such a big deal to install an AER engine into a Lola, (has it been done before? LOL) that is legitimately a Mazda block, and instantly become competitive. This just makes too much sense to me. |

Just kill this Mazda diesel thing already. Let's hope something positive comes at Watkins which I also hope is a regular gas powered turbo 4.

There seems to be dark clouds in the sky. If I saw it right, Windsor's side is still partly cloudy, but Motown's side will be rainy soon.

Keating hits the tyre wall at T5 (?) and loses the rear floor. FCY as the carbon piece is on the racing line.

If those dark clouds unload their fury, we see another race.
P.S. the IMSa streaming with that pause each 4 seconds kills me |

As much as that caution is good for the MSR P2, picking up that bit of debris is a perfect use case for code 60 *sigh*...

Jordan Taylor leads into the first corner from the restart. More rain coming down on the track now. That was an aggressive but well-placed pass.
Collision between Junqueira (#11) and TKS (#52). Junqueira spun on his own seemingly out of T1 and had nowhere to go. Neither did Kimber-Smith, who collected him head-on. Back to FCY. |

So TUSC has had more safety car time than the first PWC race? Well I never...

Townesend Bell has hit the wall, significant rear-end damage and the tyre wall isn't in the best of shape. FCY.
Jordan Taylor pinged Bell trying to get past in the braking zone. Can't see the #10 not getting a penalty for that. There go my FRC points for this round... |

Excellent win for the #31, it's about time Cameron (& Curran) got an overall victory.
Barbosa spins trying to catch up, loses 2nd to Negri and has to fight off Hand & Westbrook to hold onto 3rd. |

Many dramas at the end as 4 GTD cars go off at turn 1 in heavy rain after the chequered flag.
Seems from what the commentary team mentioned that someone might have hit the safety truck. |
