750MC Birkett 6Hr Relay

I'm told that the Birkett 6hr relay is one of the classics of club racing and that the format of the race is a wee bit different from a "normal" race. Could anyone who has attended one of these meetings before let me know what I have let myself in for. Is it true that there are always 30 cars on the track irrespective of incidents, pitstops etc

Anyone else going this weekend?

Yes, it is true. For me this was a 'must do' end of season meeting. Something special, something different. Problem now is that they have moved it from Snetterton to Silverstone so I no longer go.

Yes Chiggs, its not a bad day out, there are always cars out at any one time, and lots of them, from BMW, to tiny frog eyed whatsits, makes flagging a dream! Yes, Full of diversity, and don`t tell anybody, but we usually get a little gift of recognition for our hard work too...

I would actually say there's probably more like 50 cars on track at any one time... there are 50 competing teams afterall!!!

Long time no see Chigley - until Saturday it seems
Excellent event.
Radicals to chain driven Frazer Nashes, so plenty of flagging for you.

To explain, it's a team relay. Usually you have 30 or so teams of 5 drivers, so if one driver breaks down another member of the team can start. Thats how you always end up with 30 teams on track.
