Well, Strakka got their HPD up to 7th overall which is best of the non-diesel/hybrid cars

if i rememeber well during the 2011 test, the #2 ran faster than the pole position of the race. Today the weather isn't hot but not even cold according to the info shown in le mans site... if times will be around 3.30 and not 3.25 for the best cars the situation is a bit strange.
BTW good timelap of nakajima, play at an enhanced version of rfactor helps.

I mixed those up. Though the broke is leg in the 2010 season. It was earlier. My fault.

Fastest lap at the Test Day last year was a 3:27.687. Pole was a 3:25.738, two seconds faster.

It is impossible to say, as pointed out a million times before. Assuming no rain conditions look good for a fast lap, but then it depends on what people are testing, who they need in the car and whether they can be bothered.

The car isn't hopeless or ten seconds a lap quicker that is, and will be, all we can read into today.

Great to see it lapping...

So much reading between the lines goes on at this point every year. We won't see the reality until 13th June. Encouraging though......

I also like how it uses electric power in the pits. I presume it also has a starter motor, but it is good to save it.

They should be able to do without the startermotor.

I believe that there is an extra cooling hole in the side window of the TS030.

Toyota is testing different front brake cooling hole sizes:

Also note that on the second picture there is an additional cooling hole left from the windscreen wiper.

I just had a look at the top speeds recorded during the first test session. The claim that the Toyota would be 70 hp down on Audi is plain ridiculous.
  • #7 Toyota: 330.1 km/h
  • #8 Toyota: 328.1 km/h
  • #3 Audi: 326.1 km/h
  • #2 Audi: 325.2 km/h
  • #4 Audi: 324.2 km/h
  • #1 Audi: 322.3 km/h
  • #17 Dome: 322.3 km/h
  • #21 HPD: 320.4 km/h
  • #22 HPD: 314.9 km/h
  • #13 Rebellion: 312.2 km/h
  • #12 Rebellion: 311.3 km/h
  • #16 Pescarolo 03: 308.6 km/h
  • #15 Oak Pescarolo: 307.8 km/h
This might be another case of Audi running slightly more downforce. However, the Toyota engine produces decent power and the car has a good low drag aero package.

with the same comparable power output, i was sure that toyota would have a best top speed than audi because of high rev nature of the engine that helps a lot to have a better max speed than a torque shreeder low rev engine, maybe audi didn't run with the maximum low drag bodykit/setting.
Nice to see that the low-drag bodykit of arx-03a works well giving an higher top speed than the lola coupè!
Strangely the old oak pescarolo (that however didn't have holes and fin) was able to reach a much higer top speed than the new one.

the lola rebellion top speed of 2011 was 319km/h, they have a new car this year but surely the holes will influence the drag of the car... then think also that is really hard that they will receive some bodywork update for le mans because of lola hard situation.

i agree, you can be the fastest on the mulsanne, but the best timelap is done running in the fastest way in porsche sector and other hotpoint like tetre rouge and arnage exit.
