Carrier Raceway...Revisited
I have decided to redesign one of my first tracks, Carrier Raceway. Some of you may remember it, some of you, it's the first time you're seeing it. The first thing I did was redesign the first section leading up to the newly reprofield Bryant & Stratton Chicane. I then tightened Dead Man's Curve to make it "deadlier" and created a new infield complex than ends in a curving straight that leads to untouched Carrier Chicane. The sweeping corners have been reprofield and/or moved in order to give it a better flow. The reprofiling of the sweeping bends force the Pits Hairpin to be loosened. Although there is no good reason for it, I moved the pits to the other side of the track. First is the old track, secondly the new track.

Any way to improve on it? What would you do?

I don't really know. It just doesn't seem to flow that well .

I actually like it, except that the Carrier Chicane just looks rather out of place. It spoils that nice curved straight (yeah, there's an oximoron) that leads into those high speed sweeps.

My edit
I'm afraid I really gave it a chop around. Used some of the ideas in your own edit though as well.

How's this? I got rid of the Bryant & Stratton Chicane and replaced it with a bend. It looked horrible on my past edit, and I'm pretty sure you guys didn't like the original version, so I just made one corner. I got rid of the Carrier Chicane, because, just like Purist said, it ruins the flow into the sweeping bends. I kept it in the previous edit just to keep the corner count about the same, but with the removal of both the Bryant & Stratton Chicane and the Carrier Chicane, it went from a 20-turn circuit, to a 14-turn circuit, which seems about normal. I also took the liberty in naming the sweeping bends the "Carrier Sweeps."

Mandretti's basics are quite OK. I like your track, P.

I like pirenzos track more than Mandrettis.
I don't like the two hairpins before the carrier sweepers on Mandrettis track. In my opinion hairpins are only necessary to create ovetanking spots. But on this track the straight before the haipins are to short, so they are useless. I think they destroy the driving rhythm, too |

Not bad, Lustigson. You got rid of all the unnecessary sections and corners (see previous post).
I like the 3rd and the 4th corner, intersting section |

Nice track. Has a lot of potential for being hacked around. Here's my (rather OTT) go at it. And yes, there are tinges of Monza, Indianapolis and Buenos Aires there somewhere...

I just generally don't like that bit after Dead Man's Curve and before Carrier Sweeps. That's why I cut it out entirely in my edit.
