changes on Valencia circuit

I think the circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia is a bit boring. There are hardly any challenging corners. Also, overtaking is a problem on this track, especially for cars.
For this reason, I have done a lot of changes to ease overtaking.
And I think the Infield is bigger challenge, now

Here's my go at Valencia. I seem to remember having changed this horrific track before, but I couldn't find the edit anymore. It's probably on some back-up cd or something.

By the way, have any of you tried this tool yet? Looks pretty handy!

Horrific's the word - it's a typical attempt at trying to squeeze too much track into too little land. I've had a go at a total blast edit of the circuit and it's still horrible:

Lustigson, there are some really good changes, for example the double left before the backstraight or the esses after the hairpin.
But you destroyed the wide left handed corner before the last corner or the infield after the esses.
Also, I don't get it why you placed a chicane at the 5th corner of the track.

Chaynes321 has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
i think the chicane is there to reduce the entry speed to turn 6 and also for Variety

But why do that? Lustig's first few corners there are very slow, I doubt there'd be any speed worth reducing after turn 3. Small kinks aside the lap basically opens with three first gear left handers...

Then again at turn 10 and 11, that's not necessary and the 'snail' at turn 18 and 19 hardly fits either.

The rest I like though, but as per comments above I would generally loosen turn 22.

Don't forget folks Valencia is where F1 teams go to test maximum downforce settings - I hardly think it needs to get any slower...

Check out the circuit's website and particularly the stats page (if you can find it hehe).

A minimum corner radius of 30m is very small. That's similar to a corner like turn 3 at the Nurburgring, which I remember Martin Brundle saying was first gear.

Wooshy: Yeah, i'd change the direction too - the track seems odd the way it's actually raced.

Lustig: Yeah, i think we discussed this track back in "the old" thread - i seem to recall having done an edit on it before too .

Jam: Sure, it is very squeezed - it reminds me a bit of Catalunya actually.

Anyway, just a quick (slightly offtopic, sorry ) word - i'm in Florida right now, so that's why you guys haven't heard much of me the last week. The other day i went on a tour at the Daytona Speedway - much interesting! Amongst other things i got to see the SAFER-barriers pretty close-up, which was interesting. I also passed by Sebring the other day, nothing much to see there though .

This is my Valencia edit.

I turned T1 into a hairpin as it was the obvious thing to do. I eased T4 for an easier passage into T5, a new corner that opens up into T6. T5 has a steep camber on it and T6 has shallow banking to ease the run onto the back straight. This runs into a new hairpin also with shallow banking to help overtaking. T12 is also slightly banked to allow side by side running into T13 where the banking increases slightly to allow a faster exit onto the start/finish straight, hopefully allowing more overtaking into T1.
