Nick6 should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
If SRO was in charge any Falken tire cars would have to carry an extra 50 kg when it starts to rain.

Please stop posting ideas of penalties... you imagine the worst...

Update on Planetlemans:
Editor Marcel ten Caat had with American Le Mans Series Race Director Beaux Barfield here’s a clarification from Mr Barfield on the penalties issue for the Mid-Ohio race...

Weight Penalty for Falken Wets

In the wet - I would welcome a penalty of 50Kilo as the car would be more stable and it would assist in getting the power down. In the wet it is down to tyres and driver and not weight.

Horsepower does not come into play as much in the wet as in the dry

So apparently Klaus Graf and Chris Dyson did not score points at Mid-Ohio for failing to achieve the adjusted number of minimum laps. The BMW drivers did reach the adjusted level so they will all score points even though they did not reach the original minimum.

Things are still provisional at the moment and it would not surprise me if they change again.

Still, this has to be considered a massive blow for Cytosport as Luhr will miss Baltimore. They can still win the team championship, but Graf has to be devastated. As far as Dyson goes, it might be considered deserving if Guy Smith wins the title by himself.

Red flag a race, and then hand out penalties for lack of laps?

It is odd, but it sounds like the thought process is that Graf and Dyson would not have achieved the 28 lap adjusted minimum (a 6.5% reduction of 30 laps since 6.5% of the race was shortened) even if the race did not go red. Ultimately, those two only ended up doing 18 and 17 laps respectively according to the Dagys article. I'm not justifying that decision, but I guess that is what they are thinking.

I don't know. I would not be surprised if things change again since the results are still provisional.

When did they go to a lap count? For several seasons, you just had to get each driver 45 minutes in the car to score points.

Thats an unfair comment . I appreciate that Smith is the quicker , but Dyson did his bit too .

In an unsurprising reversal, Graf and Chris Dyson have had their points reinstated from Mid-Ohio.
