Wikipedia gives the following summary.....

Tiemann was seriously injured in a heavy crash during an International GT Open race at Imola on May 23, 2010. Tiemann, who was driving an Audi R8, collided with another car at the rolling start and was forced into a retaining wall at high speed. He sustained brain trauma, a fractured vertebra and broken ribs in the impact, and was placed in a medically induced coma to assist his recovery. He later regained consciousness and mostly recovered, but has been unable to race since due to the neurological damage and vision problems he still suffers from as a result of the accident.

This ties in with the information that I have been told..........I believe Marcel lives in Ibiza...........he was one of the good guys............it still seems strange to think of the Nürburgring 24 happening without him being on the grid.....

He's a director at Turnspeed, a precision engineering company. http://www.turnspeed.co.uk/index.php. And I think he still does driver coaching.

I forgot he's done a few Le Mans at the end of his single seater career.
Went very well in the Veloqx Audi in 2004.

Did their GT2 Ferrari campaign come before or after that when Jamie was teamed with Burt, Kirkaldy and Mullen?

I was transferring some old races from VHS to DVD just the other day and at the end of one the race I was mainly interested in, I had recorded FIA GT from 2006. I was pleasantly surprised to see Mr. Davies in a Vitaphone Racing MC12! I had completely forgotten about that.

Other pleasant memories include the Zakspeed Saleen with Jarek Janis, Kinch and Kirkaldy in a Ferrari F430, GLPK Corvette.

Epsilon Euskadi? They came and went in the blink of an eye it seems. That P1 car looked beautiful - to me at least.

Epsilon Euskadi ee1 founder Joan Villadelprat and Mark Phillip Payne have been taken to court in Vitoria (Spain) under allegations of corruption and negligent management of public funding granted by the Basque Country government when Juan Jose Ibarratxe was president.

Thanks for that. Funny enough, I was just thinking tonight how the program was funded; I wondered if it was some sort of regional government funding in which case I wondered how they managed to make the case for it! I guess the sums of public money being spent attracted questions! Due diligence anyone?

I remember at the time being surprised that there were no sponsors on the car. All makes sense now. Still one of the most beautiful LMP1s in my opinion.

Martin Birrane
Serge Saulnier
Olivier Quesnel

Driver-wise, what happened to Franck Montagny and Guilliume Moreau (after his bad accident).

That's a shame, kinda self destructive behaviour when you have so much to lose.

I was flicking through The Times yesterday when I come across an article about Stormy Daniels who is involved in a dispute with Donald Trump (shock) anyway she is represented by Michael Avenatti who has raced in multiple sportscar championships and started the Le Mans 24 hours as recently as 2015 sharing a GTE am car with Kuba Giermaziak & Abdulaziz bin Turki Al Saud. He seems to have turned into a bit of a celebrity over in the States...

Murphy Prototypes. Since the new P2 cars they're not around anymore and the plan to be the official European representative of the Ave-Riley was bound to fail. What are they doing now?
