Can anyone tell me how the deflection test works?

Do they just hang a big weight on the end of the wing, and see if the wing bends OR do they check to see if the whole wing moves down, which can happen if the mounts or nose deflect, rather than the wing itself.

Does the wing have to be attached to the car during the test? Or is it dismounted and supported in another way?
