Sprint should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
Ginetta G8 F3 car from 1964

I have a Ginetta G8, believed to be the only one made and raced by the factory in F3 (driver - Chris Meek) during 1964. I'm looking for some history and photographs to assist in its restoration.
The car is missing its engine (Holbay Ford 1000cc) and gearbox (Hewland Mk6) so I am looking for these items too.
I've been in touch with the owners club and Ginetta but there appaers to be little history on the car.

Have you been in touch with Ivor Walklett at Dare UK? I wouldn't expect Ginetta Cars to have anything on the G8

We (1000cc F3 Historic Racing Association) are trying to contact 'sprint' to see if he still has the Ginetta G8, if anyone knows anything about the current whereabouts of this car we would be pleased to hear.

I think he still has it as my dad knows him. I'll ask him later.

Well done, Sprint. Stick with it. I'm sure we'd all love to see it up and running.

Weren't there were 3 G8s built? I bought one around 1972/3 From Arthur Frost (known to all as Frostie) in Wolverhampton, and sold it, in pieces, to someone near Nottingham around 1975. It was supposed to be the ex-Alan Rollinson car. My main memory of it is the weight of the tub, which took two people to pick up, esp when compared to the Lola, Lotus and GRD cars I've had. Somewhere (TM) I have photos of tub, subframes, suspension, etc. Hmmm, I've quickly found 3 photos, but scanner is borked. If anyone genuinely wants to see these let me know and I'll sort something out. In the same storage "system" as the photos I'm sure there are Ginetta Owners Club magazines from the early 1970s too, and I think there was an article on the G8 in there. Mike

Quick correction: it was the ex-Stuart Graham car. Frostie, as a motorcycle racer, would have known Stuart's dad, Les, well.

More photos of the G8, showing the bare tub and the front sub-frame. These were taken around 1975. http://www.flickr.com/photos/5473150...7634359291326/ Mike

Yet more photos mainly from 1973 when the car was still a runner, in theory. https://www.flickr.com/photos/547315...7634359291326/ I am in touch with "Sprint" and Trevor Pyman the G.O.C. historian and have fed them more notes on the car. Mike
