They would have to shuffle the calendar around a bit, but the 24 hour race will always be the priority, so it wouldn't matter too much. We'll have to see how things go the next few months, no point making a decision now till they know what's what

Toyota Argentina wants to take part in the 24h race with one of their Corolla Super TC2000 cars. Drivers: Mat?*as Rossi, Rubens Barrichello, Julián Santero and Franco Vivian. Class SP3T or SP-X.

From 2012 to 2018 they were using Radical 2.7L V8, since 2019 Oreca 2L turbo. Before 2012 cars had different engines. |

Unless the Oreca is based on a Honda-block, SP3T seems to be out then:

Essentially, you can swap out the engine, but only for one from the same manufacturer. There might be a bit more leeway in SP-X, but I'm not sure about that either. I hope this project happens, because the ST2000s are some seriously cool cars, but for right now, I'm somewhat skeptical. |

I almost forgot an important thing:
The team running/developing the STC2000 car is also developing a TCR car (official Toyota project). I assume they don't do engine development inhouse but they could use that engine for the N24. Would make sense. |

That's an interesting idea. It depends if they can make the TCR engine competitive for both short distance and long distance racing. But it could work

Since there is zero chance of this year’s race happening with spectators in June, what is the insider gossip? Closed doors in June or a delay to the autumn hoping for fans to be allowed?

I am sure there will be a nice tribute to Sabine come the 24h. Maybe a trophy named after her?

My understanding was that the track had already announced that they will name a corner, so the petition is kinda pointless
