Andrea Moda!

Having just finished reading perry mccarthy's book,
I was wondering if anyone knew what ever happened to the andrea moda chassis?

Are they still in exsistance?

It wasn't a bad looking car!

any ideas

Hopefully they were disposed of, and then everyone quietly walked away, whistling innocently, pretending it never happened...

Click here for all you ever wanted to know but were afraid to ask. Actually when it comes to Andrea Moda, then plain old afraid will do.

But would they just dispose of a chassis by lobbing it in the skip. Obviously I take it bailifs would impound the teams cars and transporters? They might just still be out there some where?!

It was a pretty tidy looking car and designed by Nick Wirth it would have been reasonable. It just shows you though, F1 cars don't run themselves.

I don't know if this would help you out, but recently I was having laugh with someone calling him he was as talented as Sassetti, then we found that Andrea Moda is still producing shoes. I thought it was bankrupt after the team got kicked. Not surprisingly, we managed to open the website just once - well, it was nice, the shoes were nice for ladies, but now for some reason there's just one flash movie saying Loading and that's it. There was some history bit on the website, so I guess if you get lucky you can open the full website and contact them. But I think the car is probably property of Goodyear or some other creditor.

It was probably a good car actually - the problem was the people running it were clowns though so the car never got anywhere near its potential. You can't do F1 other than 100%. Look at Midland recently. Yer man Schneider had no idea what was involved when Bernie spoofed him into buying Jordan.

Both chassis are still owned by Sassetti. Yes the cars still exist.

Well you can't blame them for trying.

That was a time when F1 wasn't in a professional level that it's today and some one with the will to run a team could easily try it... basically that's where all teams came from. You can say that if it's open to everyone, some good will come and some bad might show up also. I'm pretty sure F1 is safe from the likes of Moda today, but the process has virtually killed any chances to a privateer making into the competition.
Now this is a good reason for a laugh.

Slightly off topic but does anyone know what ever happened to the LIFE chassis that 'took part' (I use this very loosely) in 1990 and if it is still in existence anywhere?

One of the Andrea Moda chassis was offered for sale about one year ago from an owner in italy. I don´t know if it was Sassetti.
The car was painted in silver instead of it´s original black livery.
Don´t think the car was too bad because it should be the BMW F1-car if they had realized their plan to start in formula one in 1991.

You're not alone, I'd like to know where this is too.

Wasn't the Andrea Moda a stillborn Spanish-funded effort to begin with?

Slightly OT - I was at a driving school last year in Shannonvile, Ontario and they had the 2 Mastercard Lola F1 cars.

It was a last minute trip for me and I forgot the camera.

They also had a couple late 90's Bennettons and a couple 1994 Arrows.
