So who will be 2003 BTCC Champion

After Brands today we have Yvan Muller on 183 points, and James Thompson on 158. Paul O'Neill is on 119, which is still mathematically possible for him to be champion, but it's a very very long shot.

So who do you reckon will leave Oulton Park 2003 BTCC Champion - Thompson or Muller ?

Thompson - Muller should be punished for what he did to Reidy at Brands. Plato was always punished for this moves on Muller in 2001 and the same for Bennett, I hope Muller gets the same...

Muller will win, I think he has the determination to, although the pressure seems to be getting to him

Muller was soooo unlucky not to win the last two years (OK Thompson deserved it last year) but I'd have to go with Yvan the man!

Have a look at this thread for the full Muller vs. Reid lowdown.

I believe (or did before Brands) that Muller deserved the title - just look at the times he's been on the podium and driven remarkbly well even with full ballast on board.

Read that thread now, Muller definately does NOT deserve to win.

Thompson all the way for back to back titles

There does appear to be a clash of personalities with regard to Muller and Reid. Each year it comes down to two or three works drivers to justify the time and money that the works teams invest in them. When on the track, any driver will see things tinted for their benefit and find fault with others. And people in all sorts of situations will at times react out of character in the heat of the moment. Sometimes this happens on the track and sometimes it happens off the track. Many are probably embarrassed after the incident.

I would like to see this years championship goto Yvan Muller for his consistant efforts on the track this year and previous years.

wouldn't say muller doesn't deserve to win the championship due to reid incident.

reckon he'll still win, thompson seems a bit lacklustre.

Earlier in the season I reckoned Muller... he's deserved the win for his driving with Ballast on board all season.

Of course the incident with AR after the last race has tarnished that view and I'm not so sure that he does deserve to win it now.....

If anyone deserves it I'd say Paul O'Neil for being such a good sport... and thats from a die hard MG man

Muller will win - at last! - because the gap is far too big for Thommo to be able to close.
