You are correct, this is a discussion forum. D.R.T. seems to think this is the fiction section.

If he wants to discuss fiction he is in the wrong place.

Except it's not based on evidence as you selectively left out parts of the press release to suit your agenda.

The article from 2008 says:
Quote:
Member for Townsville Mike Reynolds said the event will bring great economic benefits to the region.

“It is expected to generate $10 Million dollars and provide an estimated 130 full-time equivalent jobs during construction and an additional 180 full-time equivalent jobs as a result of staging the event each year,” Mr Reynolds said.
The article linked in this thread says:
Quote:
Queensland Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk described the announcement as a ‘win’ for the state with the events contributing an estimated $80 million to the economy each year.

“This is a great win for the Gold Coast and Townsville,” said Palaszczuk.

“Securing these events for the Gold Coast and Townsville will deliver around 200,000 visitor nights and $80 million in economic benefit each year.
Contrary to your post there seem to be quite a few numbers quoted there. No missing information.

You then try to claim the 2.5 million quoted in the 2008 press release is paid to VASC whereas it actually says:
Quote:
In addition, we will contribute $2.5 Million annually for the first five years of the event to ensure it is a success for Townsville.
Nowhere does it say the money goes to VASC as you implied to Mixer. Its pretty clear this is the annual costs of staging the event of which a portion would likely go to VASC but the majority would be for infrastructure.

So coming back to your initial post:

What part of this isn't fiction?

Finally, I normally enjoy your trolling as it is fun to play "Spot the logical fallacy", but it gets a bit silly when you just make stuff up and then expect others to discuss it as if it is fact.

Now just to bring things back into perspective and keeping on point - providing full sources and extracts in order to avoid any confusion or doubt.

peckstar has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
lets see, i will spot the difference

one is an article by a newspaper using the word "understands" but quoting no-one
one is a motorsport website quoting key people JW and AP
one is an 8 year old government press release from two governments ago (and theprevious owners) announcing a new event

But im wasting my breath
