Safe race one - couple of early retirements.

Neal & Reid close racing in two...nothing touching though.

Huff & Collard collided whilst fighting for 3rd, bit of a word war going on there.

Great first win for Dan Eaves.

Did Collard and Huff hit the barriers? what and where did it happen?

Druids as Plato passed, Huff stuck his nose in too.

Huff ran wide though and took them both off the track...OR

Collard nudged Huff as he passed, and kept pushing forcing Huff to turn in.

Whichever you believe.

Race 3, Muller wins from Neal after an astounding start. Collard made his way from the back of the grid to fourth. Equally impressive.

I've seen that move performed brilliantly a hundred times but it didn't work this time, I think Collard should just have gave way at a corner like that.

Reid also has 9 points on his licence - one endorsement away from losing it altogether. I just hope it doesn't stop him racing 'hard' now, as it appeared at Oulton.

Hopefully it was more to do with his engine problems.

Eaves gag during the Motors TV chat show was great though ... that Reid didn't scare him as he's on good behaviour, so he just cut him up at the first corner of race two

Muller & Thompson are now tied exactly on 124 points. Close season...again

Only between the two VXs though, which is a shame! With better luck Neal, Reid (and maybe Plato without that Brands shunt) could have been a bit closer to the top 2!

Got back a couple of hours ago, just gathered my thoughts, 3 good races, but very uneventfully IMO.

First win for Dan Eaves!

Big congratulations to Dan Eaves on his first win, a brilliant drive, well deserved. Even having his lead cut by the safety car period didn't faze him. The first of many, I hope!

I thought Collard's drive to fourth in the final race was also very impressive considering the damage from race 2. Shame about the 6.30 curfew meaning the seat's finished early.

I thought it was a fantastic meeting, the races were exciting and close just like Silverstone and I got plenty of photos too, it was also my first visit to Oulton and I thought it was a really great track, I think it was a really good meeting. Drivers of the day for me were Collard and Eaves.

I get my photos back tmro, so hopefully i've got some decent shots, knickerbrook and the run down from lodge were fairly crowd free, shot mostly from there.

Nope - OLD HALL!! And yes they destroyed part of the barrier. Huff took off his wheel but team still re-built it (again!!) for the next race!!

A great weekend, brillant weather and a first race win for Dan, well driven and well deserved. Held my breath for the restart but he held his nerve and Jason off to get the win. The smile on his face said it all and I'm sure it's still there. Congratulations Dan

Does anyone know what on earth happened to Charlie Butler-Henderson - he just seemed to drive off into the tyres in race 3.

I thought they were called in a lap early? I'm sure the commentators said they were gonna run 1 lap less than full distance?

Yeah, had one lap cut off. Pretty good going tho, considering all the incidents, especially the big one at Hilltop.

racingdad has a lot of promise if they can keep it on the circuit!
Seats completed 10 laps - in reality an extra lap wouldn't have changed the positions - except maybe someone might have fallen off

Why does a circuit in the middle of nowhere have a curfew?

Because the cows don't like being disturbed!!!

Honestly - it's because of the nearby villages

I must admit i've never really understood the curfew, the trees and gradient of oulton do a pretty decent job of masking a lot of the noise

Is this the same reason they can't start racing until after 12 then?

Trying to get a full days racing into 6 hours is pretty damn tight. Certainly, at Thruxton there's a Church break - for whatever reason that should affect a race circuit I don't know.
