It was common knowledge over the Homebush weekend, apparently the modus operandi is to reduce the size and simplify the category's rulebook.

why not just use the CAMS Manual, instead of trying to reinvent the wheel.

VASA went away from the CAMS manual 15 years ago for good reasons and as an FIA international series, could now probably not be in the CAMS manual in any case, largely due to many FIA details and CAMS manual details being different.

To go back to the CAMS manual would in fact entail reinventing the wheel for VASA.

Was initially AVESCO, then VESA, now some call it VASA although it could simply be SA too.

Don't worry CAMS will help, just appoint another manager:

http://www.speedcafe.com/2017/02/01/...tions-manager/

one reply to that story:

The Stig • an hour ago
CAMS have more titles than the Royal Family...General Manager of Motor Sport Operations, General Manager of Motor Sport Events, General Manager of Catering and Fast Food Equality, General Manager of Motor Sport Fiscal Operations, General Manager of Formula 4 Justification, General Manager of Formula E Appraisal, General Manager of Managing Generally.... and so the list goes on, and on, and on endlessly....

What does C.A.M.S stand for? Consortium of Average Management Stooges gets my vote

As shared by AA, Mr Baird is the 2017 VASA Driving Standards Advisor Here

A big shift in responsibilities here... I thought the reason the DSO/DSA addressed/ran the driver's briefings, and part of recent experience being relevant, is that they can share from what they know... it seems Mr Schenken is running the driver's briefings now....

And no redressing! Penalties all around! Yay!!! As long as they are applied consistently, and the teams accept them consistently, and the teams serve them consistently... and that the teev people can keep up with the action... all shall be well

pretty sure you are not allowed to overlap in Supercars before the last corner, open to correction

I'm fairly sure the last 2 races I have seen Baird driving in he has been given a PLP for misunderstanding the regulations on the day.
Still he has a lot of experience behind him

An interesting question indeed...
I've heard that the delay in naming Baird as the DSO was due to Supercars wanting the role to be a CAMS one, so in a hypothetical world where a contentious or incorrect decision was made, they could lay the blame outside of their control, squarely at the feet of CAMS.

VASA Explains Tassie R3 NoPoints Decision

Why does anyone need to discuss anything with anybody?

The race didnt make a reasonable percentage of its published distance, whether that is 50% or 75% can be debated, however why not have the provision for 1/2 points when they dont get to the milestone distance.

News outlets last night lost their stuff with the crash, and wildly speculating that the race may have been rerun today, when there seems no plans to do so by anyone in charge were actually actioned.

Menu based solutions please.

X happens, we do Y
Y happens, we do Z
Z happens, we do W

Clear, simple, immutable. Unpolitickable. Please
