Of course,Alex Duducalo was faster in Superturism, but he had a fantastic Lucoil Lada 2110 running alongside with Scilla at the front.

It seems that the problem with the homologation conformity will be finally solved until Estoril evant in mid-July. According to Mr Shapovalov, leader of "Russian Bears Motorsport":
At the moment, we, together with AvtoVAZ compiled and collected all the necessary documents and in the next stage of World Championship, we will be full participants in setoff of independent teams. See: http://www.russianbearsmotorsport.co...elease286.html |

The Lada boys could not have known that their engines would not have been kosher... hopefully, it'll all be fixed by Estoril because they are actually making progress, setting up the wholly unsorted cars at the races... |

Well,it would be great, if they continue growing. Great for the championship, great for Russian autosport.
I wonder if AvtoVAZ decides to move their new Priora on the European racing arena. Of course,Russian championships are in huge 'regress' now.But there's a hope for better future. Russian+Finland f3 championship will help our young pilots to learn and work hard. And new tracks are being built at last! In fact,we could have 3 different circuits + road tracks + airfield races championship.But.There some problems between ADM and Russian Autosport Federation. And Redring is far from Central Region and teams have now enough money to go there. But autosport fans in Russia, I think, can be optimistic now. Three race tracks are being built. They say WTCC,DTM,FIA GT and even sportprototypes are interested in Russia. |

According to ladanews.ru, mr Владислав Незванкин, head of sports cars of AVTOVAZ commented about the Lada appearance in WTCC after the Valencia race:
I think that for the first time the results are quite acceptable. Now we are considering the possibility to send our experts to help "Russian Bears" in the other stages of the WTCC. And, of course, we hope that the leadership of AVTOVAZ assesses prospects for the participation of a professional team with a factory prepared car in the world championship. (translated from russian) Additionally the Lada 110 2.0 WTCC will be presented officially by AVTOVAZ at the 2008 Motorshow of Moscow in August next to the other racing and rally versions of Lada cars. |

In the case of S2000 they can also homolgate a kit of parts used in the race car but not used on the equivalent road car. Any race cars or any parts used on a race car must conform to the exact specification provided in the homolgation forms. |

I'm just chuffed they're now allowed to score points, they haven't been the embarrasment a lot of people expected and they deserve to be able to show how they've done with a points tally.

If Lotti really wants to hold Moscow road race in 2009,it won't be a surprise to see Lada works team next year.

So it looks like Shapalov is serious with this project. I hope the new model becomes reality. I assume it's this car: |

I think the new WTCC model will be based on Lada Priora (Lada 2170 in Europe) and below you can find two photos:

I think if they want to change their image they nwill use the car from FIRE's post. The Priora in Yannis's post looks worse then the car they are using now!

I especially love how fast the Priora is going in that second picture without a driver and with the handbrake still on

Have to agree with sniper, the Priora is ugly whereas the black above looks pretty nice. They should probably keep the one they have until they can use the 2116(?)
