It looked like a solid effort at the track. It looked good off the corners and seemed to handle well down the straits. Seems that they need to work on braking and corner speed.
I think the car looks okay on track. It has some proportion problems that prevent it from being a cool car. It's too long in the back and there is too much fender above the tires. Makes it look much larger than it really is. The front is cool though. |

Oddly enough, looking at it up close in the paddock with the front hood section removed I kind of liked it, but on the track it's decidedly less graceful than anything else out there...just looks a bit odd. The wheels and tires look tiny. It is however loud and distinctive!
The biggest issue I saw dynamically was that it appeared to be a handful under braking. Going into turn 7 it was all over the place in qualifying, with the front splitter on the ground under braking...maybe not quite the right balance has been found in terms of spring / damper rates, ride height, etc. Out of 4-5 laps, I only saw them hit the apex and get through the corner smoothly once, every other time was too deep into the corner or out of shape. Final verdict: Better than I expected and better than it looks in pictures but still a bit of an ugly duckling of sorts... |

Tom Milner was a guest on Eurosport's LM24 broadcast, and he insisted that the car is still being developed, and will (probably) make another appearance later this season. Not sure when thou.

Front engined LMP01/02
I doing research to have a front engined LMP01/02 Racecar?
Could this be a step to far with the current ACO regulations or not? Or is it time not worth to investigate! Wouter Wolfs |

I believe Panoz did a recent study(1 years ago?) about building a Front engined LMP1 and decided that it was an unfeasable especially giving the disadvantageous weight balance of a front engine and the added weight of drivetrain from the front mounted engine to the rear wheels. definetly stick with the mid engine. If front engines provided any advantage everyone whould be doing it lol. Gues what everyone;s doing-Mid engined |

That's the hot rumor. Then again, there have been a lot of false rumors regarding this program (people said it was dead before it showed up for Sebring and then again for Mosport, last year people said PTG stopped being involved, etc.) so I don't know for sure.

The road car program is dead, Panoz's street operations have been shuttered, and the current car won't pass Euro regs even even if they did build the minimum. Basically it's a slow car on an old Esperante chassis that can't run in any classes. AKA it be dead.
