Stewart Lines is obviously well in the mend, he was out in one if their VW Cup cars getting in some mileage as the Focus isn't ready yet.

Ha, yes, multi class days of the championship were great fun but brought up some "odd" results. Now what year was it that Tony Lanfranchi won it in a Moskovich, may have been more than one year IIRC?

I think that was the Production Saloon Championship (where the class structures were based on retail price) and not the BTCC.

Didn't the ETCC once have points for overall position added to the points for your in class?

To fuel to the WSR BMW speculation, interesting comment on AJ and his RX drive on Autosport....
'Since then he has had a relationship with Mattias Ekstrom's EKS Audi team that included a start at Franciacorta in 2015 and demonstration and reserve duties last year. But his move to WSR BMW for the 2017 BTCC precluded working with the factory-supported Audi RX effort and prompted the move to MJP's Ford Fiesta.' http://www.autosport.com/news/report...world-rx-start |

Read today that Stewarts team Maximum Motorsport are offering a prize of a run out in their BTCC car to the top three finishers in this year's VW Cup. Good on him 😀

What kind of power output do the 2016/2017 BTCC cars have?

So from the source that predicted the Vauxhall PMR deal, Jordan to WSR, Goff at Eurotech, Cooked ousted for Lloyd & Taylor-Smith at 888, Turks at WSR is saying Collard at WSR & Howard at BMR!!!!

Hope this a joke... surely BMR have more sense than that. Nice guy I'm sure, but if he gets the drive instead of someone like Cook or Welch...

BMR have their team leader, everyone else is there to fund things. If their objectives don't match the team's aspirations, they'll be informed that they are no longer required.

It would help with BMR's apparent tactics to create a fortuitous red flag for their lead drivers when needed! 😉

Let's hope if the rumour is true that Howard is more use to RWD machinery! Looking at the positives Collard in the 3rd WSR would give Dick & the WSR crew an incredibly strong like up. |

It's no big deal. They already have two race winners in their team, the other two are just there because they enjoy it. I too hope Howard is better with RWD

Can't imagine who would want to sponsor Howard after last year, though - except maybe a bumper repair or gravel trap company! (although, granted he did get a lot of coverage last year... just not quite as intended)
Seemed to have a different sponsor every round though, really can't imagine he'll have the backing? Again, feel like I'm really having a go at him - nice guy but not cut out for the BTCC. |

Mark Howard's Facebook info states "British touring car championship race driver with ***?"
BMR has 3 letters too....... |

I must admit I can only echo others thoughts on Mark Howard. He's a lovely man, and a decent enough gentleman racer in the Clios, but the BTCC is a step too far for him. I felt really sorry for him at stages last year, especially at Croft, where he looked terribly uncomfortable in the car.

BMR have a new driver for the "tactical safety car"
what are the bets that say a BMR needs to close a bigger gap towards the front Howard "somehow" causes a safety car ? |

Mark Howard said in interview, granted he was in a state of shock, after the Snetterton shunt that he was struggling in BTCC and felt out of his depth - words to that effect anyway. I genuinely do not think we will see him return. He came, he tried and I think he could garner respectable results in say British GT. |
