Top Shots Mixxer.
The Merc is still in one peice. Refere earlier on this thread. The BJ Monza became a Supra and I think Des Wall still has it! Kerry (Ball Bag) Baily (no 'e') built a new Supra didn't he? |

The Bailey car confused people cos when he first raced it it was in clours similar to the ones of the Jane Monza when Brock raced it

Another car i haven't heard of is the Greg Ferrall Charger and Clem Smith had one as well.
The Monza in that pic looks like the colours it ran when it ran Vredstein tyres sponsorship. |

14 is Keith Carling, 28 is Kerry Baily Toyota Supra. The Jane Monza went to Bryan Thompson who turned it into the Supra that Des Wall now has. 85 is definitely the ex-Jane Monaro raced by Tino Leo while the Escort is not the Monterosso car, probably a rotary powered unit.

The 381 car is deffinately the ex Mick Monteresso car, keep in mind Mick took over Brother Cos's Chev powered RS2000 version that most are more familiar with. The Greg Farrell car was the ex McCormack car that i connected Finch too its being restored apparently.........

Clem Smith had housed the Charger at Mallala. Bit of a surprise to see that it ran a transaxle rear end yet the original Charger steering wheel - modern in some respects but not in others.
Yet at the Procar meeting in September there was no sign of the Charger in its usual haunt where Clem sat out in front basking in the sun . . . and memories perhaps? |

I do believe the Mick Monterosso Escort now lives in QLD, ownewd by Sean English (on of John's sons). The car rolled at QR a couple of years back, but it should be a goer early next year, fingers crossed.

Pete, you'll probably know this.... Simon Harrex had a Commodore Sports Sedan, now my mem is going, but did he have an Opel Senator or something like that in the late 80s that was wrecked at Amaroo? Is one of the English cars one of the old Bryan Byrt 3 car team cars?

I have heard that the Fiat <Mighty Mouse> of Wards is almost back in a running condition. That was 6 months ago but.
I only know it run in the brown yellow colours not Rothmans. I know that his first or second Rx7 was in Rothmans colours. If I get a chance i will go through some images and post a bit of history. I remember the Finch A9X sports sedan which was low as and race till about 1989 maybe 1992. The volvo that is in autoaction for sale is the ex Brian Rhodes volvo By the way at the last race meeting of the WASCC the Mighty Veskanda was looking a bit dusty sitting in a shed! |

I think Harrex had a two door opel but i think it was written off. Crash might know if Dr. Harrex is still hanging around the motorsport scene.

Quote:
After poking his nose up the inside, he got squeezed into the inside armco then across the road into the concrete wall. They had to shovel the car into the transporter for the trip home. The Commodore was rebuilt into an Opel Senator and competed in 1990. Not sure if it was the same frame because he had a spare from memory. Simon did the "big death move" down the inside of Warren Jonssen's VK Commodore coming up to the bridge at Lakeside. The chassis hit the deck (as it does there if you are off-line), bounced him across the road backwards and he and did the classic Mezera/Canto and hammered the outside armco side on. Before purchasing the ex-Monterosso car, Sean English owned a full bodied Escort 2-Litre Sports Sedan and sold it to someone in Brisbane who's name escapes me at the moment. I'm pretty sure this car wasn't one of the original Bryan Byrt Ford Escorts, but will do some more research. |

Falc- I believe the old 2ltr English car went a bloke called Steve Lawrence, who was a part of the Kruck organisation. Not sure what happened with it after that. Craig has pretty much gotten out of the motorsport at the moment with family life etc.

Amon Fan you are right that it was Bruce's old car.
Does anyone know where the old alfetta is? The first of the two cars Basil Ricciadello had built. I know Joe Riccardo bought it but i think it was sold to the eastern states possible Vic. |
