Crossle changes hands

Was a bit worried when I read that the new owner made his money in the Russian oil fields (remember TVR?).......

Crossle changes hands

turns out it's not an oligarch though!

Arnie Black was conspicuous by his absence in that video.

Well, they didn't find time in their under 2 minute slot for an interview, but he wasn't absent (see 1:27)

I don't know anything about the new owner but, as a supposed enthusiast, I just hope he puts his back into it the way Lawrence Tomlinson has done with Ginetta... and not let it decline the way some of Crossle's illustrious peers have sadly gone in recent times.

Lets hope it's good news for Crossle. The new owner sounds like an enthusiast with some cash.

When I raced in the Formula E Ford 1600 Championship in the 80's we one of the first UK Championships to go to Kirkistown and the whole experience was amazing (although my Liver might disagree). We'd travel on the Thursday, test all day on Friday, race on Saturday and then head off to the Crossle Factory on Sunday evening before getting the overnight Ferry back. John Crossle would show us around, provide drinks and snacks etc. The welcome was wonderful (even if I ran a PRS which is supposed to be a Crossle copy!).

Crossle had spares for every car he'd built. All organised and ready to go when needed. It was a pleasure to be invited into this wonderful workshop and I hope the legacy that John Crossle has passed on is treated with the respect it certainly deserves.

Paul McMorran certainly has a collection of Historic Crosslés having raced a 12F, 17F, 22F & 25F over the past couple of years that I know of, so let's hope this will be good for the company.

If he wants to build new cars what series are there out there that he can sell cars into?

Almost everything now is spec chassis except for some classes run by the 750club

Alan, you will be pleased to know that John is in fine form and still dispensing great hospitality which we all sampled yesterday, just after 5pm!

I was at the press launch yesterday with another UK based 9S owner and can assure all that this is a very exciting development, opening the third chapter in Crossle history. The company is now the longest established racing car manufacturer in UK. There is a good report on the launch on:motorsport.ie which can be accessed from the TT home page.

For the benefit of those who do not know, Paul has been commuting from Moscow to UK and Europe for some 10 years now, actively campaigning his Crossle single seaters with some gusto and success.

I am very much looking forward to a new clutch of 9S cars joining our band of 12 cars here in UK. Our owners all wish Paul and the team at Rory's Wood much success for the future.

Ah, I wondered where Paul McMorran obtained the wherewithal to go racing what seems like every weekend.

I have never met him but I have seen him at several locations and frequently noted that he seems to be ever present at a location somewhere around europe weekend after weekend.

Seems to be a top bloke and very committed racer.

[(even if I ran a PRS which is supposed to be a Crossle copy!).

A copy of a Crossle, that itself was (if you track it all the way back to the 24) a copy (to all intents and purposes) of a Lotus 69. As was the FA73 Van Diemen and the RP21 Royale. So, basically, they all evolved from one simple, effective design, which should really be the basis of a contemporary Formula Ford today, with an eco-friendly 1.3 litre engine of @ 100 bhp. Not the ridiculous winged monstrosity that they are wheeling out for next year.......

Sorry to go off on a tangent, but I feel better now!
