Apparently the accident was similar to Ben Devlins in 2008 when he got airborne on the inside of T1, according to Ryan Eversley on Twitter. Glad to hear the driver is OK but I'm sure they'll be OK for the 12 hours as they have multiple chassis. Having an intact tub would definitely help as well...

Multiple chassis yes, three to be specific if I am correct, but...
one of them is the car that was testing at Sebring, one car due to race in Europe and one car has gone to Signature. Considering the LMS test 1 week k before Sebring week kicks off, not much time left to repair that US-based car. |

it appears the tub is still intact and will not require a replacement...says an update from John Dagys who is at Sebring.

3 were built as DBR1/2s, but one was destroyed in testing last year, and they rebuilt it using one of the older Charouz Lola tubs. So only 2 remain in AMR's hands unless they bought another one over the off season. |

Okay, am I the only only? What the heck are the unpainted plywood panels/wings/boards/panels on both of the front stretch bridge supposed to be? Other than create less of a viewing window of the straight???

I don't think there is another reason, they don't want fans piling up on the bridge to watch the cars. They want to keep the flow of spectator traffic moving.

...and they don't want crap falling on the cars from above.
It's not something I keep track of but aren't all bridges over tracks like that? I think all the ones I have been to are. |

Its been what, 20 years since the bridges at Sebring didn't have those? btw - the new plywood is under the bridge supports which aren't spectator areas anyway.

I just saw the photo from Primat's crash on DSC. Prodrive must be the best Lola customers EVER! They are constantly smashing those things up.
