IIRC, he ran an old Civic on LPG, but it was rubbish and heavy, then switched to a 406 on the same fuel. Didn't help much though.

Pettersson should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
The Swedish automotive magazine Teknikens Värld says that Tobias Johansson and another driver will show up with 2 VW Sciroccos next year. So now we know they are aiming for 2 cars.

Is Jimmy Johansson related to Tobias Johansson?

Are the Scirocco and Leon sharing the same engine?

No, they aren't. That's because Johansson is the most common surname in Sweden, or at least it was last year . Jimmy Johansson would be a good choice since he is a good driver and has raced the Scirocco in endurance events in Germany. And Andreas Simonsen was very quick in the Audi at the Gothenburg venue. Alexander Graff won JTCC this season in a Golf and then I don't know much about Niklas Olsson, but I'm sure somebody else do. That's the names for possible drivers that the article mentions.

TBH, I don't know which platform the Scirocco shares with other models (they are so many in the VAG family!), and the same goes for the drivetrain. Again, I think somebody else might have more information on this to share with us.

OK... this sucks...

Though guess that was pretty much what could be expected with STCC moving to 2 sprintraces next year.

Yeah I just assumed it would be aired on Viasat Sport, sorry. And I also want to make clear that I think STCC have really taken it up a notch in terms of TV etc. the last couple of years.

I think its a good move, hopefully the live coverage will be aired on Channel6, but that might be hoping for too much as STCC and F1 has clashed twice this season which wouldnt work. Unless ofcourse they do as they said earlier and run all STCC races on saturdays, which I think is a great idea as it will be more lucerative for the spectators. Its way easier to drag my frinds with me to a rallycross event on a saturday then a STCC event on a sunday.

Cool, I hope all races will be saturday races, and not just a few. STCC is a one day event anyway, only the supports race over 2 days.

Yeah the highlight program from SVT will most likely be on their site as usual, the live coverage from Viasat tho I doubt you'll find a stream for, maybe if someone stream it through JustinTV or something other non official.

Well, Viasat has a way of screwing things up by moving half of the events to their pay for channels that is not even available for everybody. Just take F1 as an example, when they took over it didnt take long for them to stop airing the qualifying with the motivation "we dont have free airtime on any of our free channels". The race that happened was the Australian one, so I'm sure the huge crowds waiting for TV-shop 5 in the morning would have been outraged if they turned on the TV and saw the F1 quali instead...

So I'll be very surprised if we get full live coverage of the races on a free channel. There will for sure be some highly important rerun of some doky-soap that will take precedence.

Yes, eventually they succumbed to the massive protests and put the qualies back.

Hope they do the same with STCC then, maybe a "motorsport saturday" with F1 qual and STCC?

Yeah, that would be great. But Im betting on that most things in Viasat STCC coverage will be on pay for channels. Best case realistic scenario is that we get the 2nd race live, but Im not even sure about that.

STCC.se reports that Chevrolet Team Sweden could be a 2 car team next season. Now who could that 2nd driver be?

Ok I know, a bit early but the silly season has really taken off so to keep track of where we are heres the good old list again!
  • WCR: Fredrik Ekblom, BMW 320si - Likely
  • WCR: Robin Rudholm, BMW 320si - Likely
  • Flash Engineering: Richard Göransson, BMW 320si - Likely
  • Flash Engineering: Jan Nilsson, BMW 320si - Likely
  • Honda Racing: Thed Björk, Honda Accord - Likely
  • Honda Racing: Tomas Engström, Honda Accord - Likely
  • Polestar: Robert Dahlgren, Volvo C30 - Likely
  • Polestar: Tommy Rustad, Volvo C30 - Likely
  • Chevrolet Motorsport Sweden: Thomas Schie, Chevrolet Lacetti - Confirmed
  • Chevrolet Motorsport Sweden: (David Björk?), Chevrolet Lacetti - Possible
  • IPS Motorsport: Johan Stureson, Peugeot 308 - Likely
  • IPS Motorsport: Victor Huggare, Peugeot 308/407 - rumored
  • MAGP: Mattias Andersson, Alfa 156 - Likely
  • Nordic Fine Art: Roger Eriksson, SEAT Leon - Possible
  • Elgh Motorsport: Carl Rosenblad, BMW 320si - Possible
  • KMS: Tommy Kristoffersson, ? - Possible
  • Brovallen Motorsport: Tobias Johansson, VW Scirocco - Likely
  • Brovallen Motorsport: ?, VW Scirocco - Possible
  • Dealer Team Sweden: (Jens Edman?), SAAB 9-3 - Likely
  • DMS: ?, SEAT Leon - rumored
  • DMS: ?, SEAT Leon - rumored
  • Team Caliber: Dick Sahlen, (BMW?) - Possible
And then we have the armada of privateers that no one know if they will show up or not until the first race actually goes green, so no point in listing them unless they do a pressrelease saying they will be there basicly.

Its shaping up nicely, even tho theres a few entries in that list I'm very doubtful about, but we'll see. I'm still very curious about what KMS will do next season!

Hey, nice work there

But I think you can strike Rosenblad from the list, his car, all spareparts, trailers, truck, etc. are for sale in the latest issue of Autosport.

Yeah, was only a matter of time I guess. Hope one of the privateers can pick it up, its a full 08 updated car so should be very competetive. Havent seen the add, but what where they asking for the whole lot?

Think 170.000 euros for the cars without spares.
