Valker should be qualifying in the top 10 on the grid
International GT Open

I guess there already was a thread somewhere but I just can't find it...

How ever, the series should start this weekend at Monza as WTCC's support race. Any idea who will drive and what? Maybe some teams from Italian GT and Cupra GT from Spanish GT?

Only few days to the first race and still no official (or unofficial) entry list - just like another WTCC support class International F3000 Masters... doesn't give very professional impression.

15 GTA and 16 GTB cars. Pretty impressive.

Today walking in the pits I saw some of the new cars for this season.

There were team Marcos with an old and a new model, 3 Seat Cupra and 1 Seat Toledo. Confirmed the only Playteam Ferrari 430, There were no Viper Unfortunatly..but an Aston Martin for BMS is present.

Good news with the 2 brand new Lamborghini!

Ohh how I miss that LM600

Shame there seems to be no sign of this series coming to the UK. Running an LM600 for 45 mins is the only way they'd ever get me to go see WTCC this year!

I would think the first one that is would be on the road to Istanbul for the LMS rather than to International GTs. LMS seems a touch more important.

Does anyone know where the other rounds will be held? I couldn't find a calendar on their website, and first heard about this series only when I saw it on the Eurosport schedule.

I'm going to WTCC at Brands this year (60% of my motivation being to see the F3000 International Masters) so is there any chance of International GT Open being on the bill too? It was quite an impressive grid at Monza.

Sorry, ignore that post - I found the calendar after all:

Italian GT Open (April 1&2nd)
French GT Open (April 29&30th)
Portuguese GT Open (June 24&25th)
Turkish GT Open (September 23&24th)
Spanish GT Open (October 7&8th)
Cataluña GT Open (November 11&12th)

Seems it definitely won't be at Brands, as someone suggested earlier.

When I first heard about this series I have to admit I was a bit skeptical about the series prospects and the sort of calibre of drivers, teams and cars that the series would attract. However, having seen race 1 today I have to admit that the series is pretty good, almost as good in terms of quality as what you would see in say the British GT championship, I think a series like British GT would just edge it ever so slightly for me though because it has slightly better drivers, teams and cars. IMO. That said, if this series grows and attracts more quality teams and drivers it has potential to be quite a big professional series.
