Apparently an F1 journo called Luis Vasconcelos has said that Kobayashi has moved back to Sauber and there is potential for him to compete at Suzuka in Sutil's seat.
FYI I know absolutely no Japanese and this information comes from google translate and then trying to decipher the yoda-like text |

Yeah. Right.
Isn't Vasconcelas the guy who reported Brawn had returned to Ferrari recently? |

I can imagine that as Kobayashi was formerly Ferraris F1 test driver, they still have an interest in him, so I can imagine Ferrari are pulling a few strings at Sauber as they are the engine supplier.......if he came into Sauber and scored a few points, this would be utter humiliation for Caterham.......really the Sauber also seems a dog of a car, in my opinion Sutil is a half decent driver, so yet another tall order for Kobyashi

Not an opinion I share re Sutil. Way beyond his F1 sell-by date, IMO.

Well they mustn't have been able to muster enough money from the seat sale - it's Kobayashi back in the Caterham for Monza.

Sounds as though Lotterer may have been in again, had they not taken Merhi in FP1.

You can understand why Mr Lotterer isnt impressed, not being able to run practice sessions means he doesnt experience the car/circuit/upgrades till later in the race weekend... and puts more miles on 'his' powerplant/gearbox for a jolly rather than to effect car development Is Caterham a euphemism for an Automatic Teller Machine? |

Perfectly reasonable view taken by Lotterer.

Is anyone going to tell them to stop selling seats by the race/session/ lap, or are the powers that be hoping they limp on to the end of the season and quietly go bust/get sold over the winter?

As long as they don't go over 4 drivers then there's nothing to stop. Kolles and Albers have probably decided that this years lost so they might as well get as much money as possible by selling the seat in preparation for building up the team again next year. Doesn't seem like a bad idea considering they are definitely the slowest team on the grid and the chances of beating Sauber and Marussia are next to nothing.

What happens when the big end of town run our of Renault engines & engine fixings before season's end?
Could one of them get swapped into Caterham, with some new chassis bits, to take advantage of their less hungry engine usage? |
