Nope - RC was just in a class of his own, and Windham and Tedesco did more than adequate jobs as his wingmen. France could maybe have challenged, but average starts and Tortelli having to come through the field in both races scuppered them, and the only other team with the potential to challenge (New Zealand) had two great riders (Coppins and Townley), had a less able third rider - not taking anything away from Aussie 125 champion Cody, but the other two were world class.
Everts, somewhat surprisngly, was the weakest link on Team Belgium. |

Chad Reed did intend to participate, but can't say that I've noticed him there, and Everts was rammed by Barragan or whatever his name is in T1 of the last race...

Reed wasn't there, I heard rumours he was injured, but I don't think he was really up for it, to be honest - quite a few riders from the States don't have much interest in it, what with the US Open being so close and all.
Dani - MX1 is for 250 2 strokes and 450 4 strokes, Everts has dominated it for awhile (won his ninth world title overall this year) - MX2 is 125 2 strokes/250 4 strokes, and MX3 is normally for 4 strokes over 450, but for the des Nations, they just call it an Open class, and most of the riders were just on 450s. And the States had it wrapped up long before Everts got hit at the start of the last moto. |

**** . i always thought it was MX2 . as it was the ex 250 class . and MX1 to be the ex 500cc ..
for sure it wasn't one of Everts days .. normally he shouldn't had finished out of top 3-5 |

Yeah Chad Reed didn't ride as he went in for surgery on removing pins from his hand that he has been riding with since 1999 (off his official website)

Strange how, as soon as he dropped out of contention for the Nationals in '05, it was the pins in his hand that were playing up...
Only kidding, hope he comes back super-strong for '06, he needs to build a platform he can fight BT from... |
