Dempsey - Moore, Wills & Foster...

Did anybody get to hear what excuse Peter Dempsey used after his exploits this weekend at Brands?

Sounds like the incident was pretty similar to the one with Gavin Wills at Silverstone the previous week...

I don't think Peter made any excuse actually - I'm sure Matt B will be letting you all know exactly what he said very soon!

Don't forget that not only Ed Moore suffered Peter Dempsey's red mist, Gavin Wills was sidelined again (2nd time in 8 days) by Dempsey. Perhaps the truth may well be known in the future as to the causes of such contact in a non contact sport.
Who will win in the end?
It won't be ff1600 because if I was on the end of such blatant bad driving I would pack up racing in the catagory or enter races where this young dangerous man was not entered.
Somebody is going to get hurt if this standard of driving is allowed to continue and I believe its time for the governing body to act. The safety of fellow drivers, marshalls and organisers is paramount.

I would find out the full facts before you make comments like this. Yes it is a non contact sport but maybe you are talking about the wrong driver !! Who made contact with who ! You are presuming an aweful lot at the moment ! The officals did act !! Also their were other accidents in the first race how come you have no comment about these ! Also nothing was done to the driver who was given a Mechanical Flag for 2 Laps but did not pull in and caused many cars to spin including the leader at the time.

Podge, I can't believe the comments you are making without any facts. Don't you think if the officials agreed with you that Peter would be sidelined permanently?
Well, quite obviously they don't agree with you and given that they would have had all of the incident/s on tape perhaps you should withold such comments until the full facts are revealed.
I am keen to know if you are a driver.......I am and sometimes contact happens, IT's A DANGEROUS SPORT!!!! Haven't you seen the signs all around the circuits? Take a chill pill, get off your soap box and leave the lads to race.......it's what the paying public want to see.

I'll get off my soap box now.....whew!

Maybe so but i'm gonna ask the question how would Peter Dempsey do against the likes of Ed Moore, John Barnes,Tim Renolds,Pat Blakeney,at The Combe still not seen mr Dempsey enter a race there yet,i think he'll find it hell of a lot tougher racing there than anywhere else.
The gloves are off in the carnival with no championship at stake its the best time to enter if Peters that good then we'll see him take on the local drivers many have tried to take the title and failed so can't see it being any different

Any of ten irish drivers could go to combe and win. Try coming to the NI festival and finish in the top ten, now that would be a great result.

Entries are still open for the Kirkistown FF festival. Dates for it are 27th + 28th May. I agree with Nev.......if you think you are tough at Combe, come to Kirkistown and race against....Nev, Edgar, Gibson, Dunne, Ferguson, Woodside etc. etc. etc.
Better still read the write up for the championship on ff1600.co.uk, that's an unbiased opinion.

Very true Nev, the driving standards at Combe are awful. I raced in the Carnival last year and will not go back.

It has been mentioned a number of times. Pat, Tim and Paul Barnes are very good drivers but not in the same league as PD.

FF1600 racing is very close and therefore there is always the chance for contact esp when you have 2/3 hard chargers.

Podge have you read Ian's report on Combe last round? It was a crash fest?????

PS Nev did you get my email about Dubai?

Is Dubai a possibility this year again????? If so, how much. I wanted to go last year. Perhaps our full team would make the journey. I seem to remember a figure of £1500 to transport a car from London to Dubai (Return).........Please let me know..... too good an opportunbity to miss.

Since Joey's mentioned in the thread title I feel able to put something in here. Joey and Peter raced (and I mean RACED) at Silverstone in the JWT in one of the best battles I've seen for ages. (Amazingly, the two BMW races at Thruxton were almost as good on the tv!). Joey has over 100 races under his belt and he reckons that was the best RACE (as opposed to result) he's been involved in. He'd tell you that his run with Peter in the KoK final at Brands last year wasn't far behind either. I can't comment about last weekend because I wasn't there, but Peter was very quick, and very committed, at Silverstone, and Joey did not overly complain about the contact that put him on the grass. There are very few people that he would have been confident enough in their ability to race side by side with them like that. (Count Gavin in one of those few).

Sorry Heel n toe there is no chance of getting a FF1600 race in Dubai at the moment as they have issues with bringing the cars into the country at the moment (hence why the F3 race was canned last year). If I remember correctly the organiser has to fund the total retail cost of the cars tht enter the country.....

The race i was talking about was a 24 hour karting race in Dubai in September which I have sponsorship from Hilton Hotels Middle East. I was hoping to get some drivers from Ireland to join us.

we have a very strong team so far (apart from 13 stone me and Dawkins lol). I just need to find one or two other fast racers who fancy 5 nights in a 5* hotel in Dubai with a 24 hour karting race thrown in!!

Its a part sponsored team so the cost is a flight to dubai plus £400 for the race entry.

So about £600 - £700 for 5 days in the sun with a 24 hour kart race that is televised!

to enter a team is about £3k for the team alone

Red racer - Does this tie in with the Karting???????

"Discover Dubai
Absolute Media won a contract to work in conjunction with the Dubai Tourism Board (DTCM) to develop an interactive CD-Rom to enhance the marketing of the Emirate. The product would be a complete interactive guide to Dubai using video technology to portray the Emirate in its most impressive and enticing form"

Are you gonna be Karting or working?
